He expressed concern as to whether agreement would be reached as to type of development , whether area becomes annexed to Redwood City or not , and City Manager pro tem responded that this was one of the objectives , insuring compatible development whether it remains outside the City or becomes annexed . He referred to the Jenks & Adamson sewage and disposal plan, which had figured on the area accommodating one family per acre, while the County anticipated three families per acre . This was one example of what could be foreseen in a joint planning effort . Mr . George Wolfson , 358 Lakeview Way, expressed apprecia- tion to Council , and felt their action had been instrumental in bringing about the beginning of the master plan . Motion carried . ( MINUTE ORDER #71-120-A ) Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6548 APPROPRIATING $700 FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF SAT.FS TAX CAPITAL EXPENDITURE FUND TO PROVIDE FOR PURCHASE OF EQUIPMENT FOR DEPARTMENT OF CITY MANAGER , seconded by Councilman Henderson . The funds were requested to replace an IBM typewriter in City Manager ' s office . Councilman Henderson questioned whether this expenditure had been anticipated in the budget , and City Manager pro tem advised that while it had not been , funds were available in the current budget . Report regarding request of representatives of youth in Douglas-Fair Oaks section of City for financial assistance for a marathon basketball game . Councilman Petersen reported that the special committee appointed by Vice-Mayor Keckley, composed of himself , Councilmen Rhodes and Williams , had met on June 23rd with Dave Walker , David Wheaton , and Jack Spivey , as well as Deputy City Attorney Maloney, Charles Gyselbrecht , and Ken Schroeter . The Committee was impressed with having the minority community interested in having this type event to provide jobs to upgrade the area . Their intention would be to use the proceeds to hire minority youngsters to work, cleaning up vacant lots , painting houses in the area, and the like . On the other hand, Committee was concerned that the program was disorganized and Committee felt it could assist in that aspect . At conclusion of the meeting , the group was brought to the Chamber of Commerce office , in the hope they might help with trophies , food , etc . , at reduced prices . Three events are being considered, first a marathon basketball game over a period of a week and a half, with twenty players , ten on each team. Committee felt they might need more participants . Also that service clubs might be persuaded to take an interest . It was felt they had the nucleous of an idea, but needed direction in order to get greater participation of spectators . Another of their plans was a baseball game, with Council, Fire Department and Police Department involved as players . A third suggestion was
