Staff report indicated classification of Parking Meter Repairman-Collector ( Range 40 ; Salary Scale $710-$862 ) had been approved by Council in connection with acceptance of Staff recommendation for change of procedures for parking meter collections and maintenance , Classification of Equipment Mechanic ( Range 46 ; Salary Scale $821-$998 ) approved by Council in acceptance of Staff recommendation during Budget meetings for this classification to replace that of Fire Mechanic , Library Monitor ( part-time , $2 , 40 - $2 . 70 per hour ) was explained as being not a new position but a retitling and establishing criteria for part-time Main Library monitor . Appropriation was contained in the 1971-72 Budget .
