( For full text of report , see City Clerk ' s file - Legislative Committee ) Following brief discussion, Councilman Weymouth moved to accept the Legislative Committee report , and authorize implementation of the recommendations , seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #71- 126 ) Report by Council Committee regarding Sports Marathon program, Douglas -Fair Oaks area youth, Councilman Petersen , Chairman . Councilman Petersen referred to report of July 9 which had been submitted to Council , and which included a tentative athletic event schedule . Basketball marathon was scheduled to begin at 7 : 00 p . m . on August 13 and continue through August 15 at 7 : 00 p .m . , at the Sequoia High School gym; track meet at 11 : 00 a .m . , August 21st , at Sequoia High School Track Field , and softball game at 2 : 00 p . m . , August 22nd, at Hawes Park . He indicated the Committee recommended that Council be re- quested to authorize expenditure of $200 for purchase of trophies . Chamber of Commerce has offered support , and he commended one of its members , Marguerite Leipzig , who was assisting in obtaining refreshments . Vice-Mayor Keckley noted that the recommendation should include requesting City Attorney to draw up an agreement , and to require an accounting of funds and report back to Council . Expenditure would be taken from Community Promotion funds . City Attorney advised that if the activity was strictly limited to community promotion , the expenditure could adequately be handled without an agreement , but as the activity appeared to be fund-raising and use of public property for private purposes , he recommended an agreement be entered into . Councilman Petersen indicated the need for strict accounting of funds was thoroughly discussed with the group , and that they understood the requirement . Councilman Petersen moved that expenditure of $200 be authorized , and City Attorney be requested to prepare the appropriate agreement , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #71-127 ) Councilman Henderson moved to introduce Ordinance adding Section 20 . 96 . 11- 1 to Article VII of Chapter 20 of the Code relating to parking restrictions on Euclid Avenue in the City of Redwood City , seconded by Councilman Weymouth . City Librarian requested this action to provide parking relief in front of Schaberg Branch Library . Traffic Committee recommended three 20-minute ( green curb ) parking spaces in front of the Library, and seven 2 -hour parking spaces ( 210 ' ) between Library and Upton Street . The action would deter employees of Roosevelt Shopping Plaza from parking all day on the street at this location , and would permit Library patrons and parents picking up and bringing children to Roosevelt School to park near the entrances .
