COMMUNICATIONS : 1 . James V . Fitzgerald , Chairman of County Board of Supervisors , inviting Council to participate in public meeting scheduled on subject of " Tax Reform" , July 22 , 1971 , 10 : 00 a . m . , Supervisors ' Chambers . 2 . Mrs . Dorothy M . Cummings , 41 Inner Circle , protesting proposed rate in- crease for parking meter permits . Recommendation : Refer to Staff for reply . 3 . Mr . and Mrs . George Ward and residents of Atherwood Tract , regarding drainage problems in this area . Recommendation : Refer to Staff for report . In response to question by Councilman Rhodes whether anything was being done , City Manager pro tem advised the County had recently submitted a revised permit request relating to use of City easements . The entire project would be under the jurisdiction of and funded by the County . )4 International Society for the Aid and Comfort of Overseas Orphans , Inc . , request for permission and support of a raffle organization proposed to conduct in this area . ( Statement refers to Solicitors ' permit having been requested of the Police Department ) Recommendation : Refer to Staff for report and recommendation . 5 . City of Belmont , invitation to Council to attend reception honoring Miss California, Holiday Inn, July 26 , 1971 . 6 . Jens R . Halverson , 419 Compass Drive , requesting permission from Council to paint house numbers on curbs in the City . City Manager pro tem responded to question by Council , advising that currently permit for this type of work has been issued to Police Youth Club . Police Chief added that no work has been started on any of this , principally because of difficulty in getting correct stencils and type of paint . There is an order with an eastern company for the size the City requires , and hopefully by August the work would be started and would be a fund raising activity . Vice -Mayor Keckley questioned whether there was any reason this boy should not be given a permit and was in- formed by Police Chief there was none . Councilman Weymouth moved to accept communications and Staff recommendations , seconded by Councilman Williams and carried . ( MINUTE ORDER #71-- 132 ) Vice-Mayor Keckley announced that the Council had been polled and it appeared there would not be a quorum present at the regular session for July 26 , 1971 . Councilman Rhodes moved to cancel the meeting of July 26 , 1971 , and adjourn to Regular Meeting , August 2 , 1971 , 7 : 30 P .M . , at the Pavilion ( Redwood Shores ) , 350 Marine World Parkway , seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried .
