(MINUTE ORDER #71-146) <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to approve CONSENT CALENDAR , Items (a ) through amended <br /> ( d ) , seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote , Councilman <br /> Williams being noted absent . <br /> COMMUNICATIONS : <br /> 1 . Greetings from Planning Director Ken Schroeter from Manchester , England , <br /> where he is attending a seminar . <br /> 2 . The California. State Library , P . 0 . Box 2037 , Sacramento , requesting <br /> assistance in building the State Library ' s collection of local government <br /> publications , with special mention of annual reports , general plans , <br /> and any special studies or consultants ' reports , etc . <br /> 3 . Fire Commission , Dumbarton Fire Protection District , requesting meeting <br /> with Mayor and Council of Redwood City . (Attached for Council information <br /> is City ' s Resolution No . 5729 adopted 6-24-68 ( see Paragraph 1 ) , which <br /> conditions reinstatement of agreement to require all communication with <br /> District by City to be through COUNTY MANAGER . ) <br /> Mayor Bury asked that this be referred to County Manager . <br /> 4 . Assemblyman Dixon Arnett , memorandum dated August 4th relating to proposed <br /> deletions in the State Highway System . <br /> 5 . State Senator Arlen Gregorio , copy of his letter to Mayor Condon , of <br /> San Mateo , as well as copy of District Engineer Alan Hart ' s response <br /> to him concerning status of El Camino Real as a State Highway . <br /> Councilman Henderson requested two additional items be added : ( 6 ) that for the <br /> record , she had received communication from BCDC indicating her appointment <br /> as alternate to Mayor Mineta , of San Jose , representing ABAG for the South <br /> Bay Area , and ( 7 ) the Report from City Manager pro tem on the subject of <br /> Peninsula Celebration Association Mexican Independence Celebration Parade . <br /> She had understood that a simple motion by Council would give the necessary <br /> authorization for City Manager to issue the necessary permit , and was <br /> prepared to make such a motion . Mayor Bury indicated he would respond to <br /> the BCDC , and also suggested that PCA Mexican Independence Celebration <br /> Parade authorization be included in the communications items . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to accept communications and approve recommendations , <br /> as amended , seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried . (MINUTE ORDER <br /> #71 -147 ) <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adjourn by adoption of RESOLUTION NO . 6579 COMMEMORATING <br /> THE MEMORY OF GEORGE PRINCE, and to adjourn to Adjourned Regular Meeting , <br /> August 11 , 1971 , at 7 : 30 P . M . , Veterans Memorial Building , 1455 Madison <br /> Avenue , seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried on roll call vote . <br /> Meeting adjourned at 9 : 05 P .
