P . R . R . TRACKS ( SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD <br /> DEPOT ) ; AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR , <br /> seconded by Councilman Keckley . <br /> Councilman Rhodes , Chairman of the Transportation Committee , advised <br /> that the efforts of that Committee were directed toward building a <br /> structure that would shelter riders from the weather , for the amount <br /> of money available , while at the same time be an asset to the down- <br /> town area . It was hoped it could be built before the rainy season <br /> began , Staff report indicated that plans and specifications had <br /> been prepared by Gunther Alberts , Building Designer , and had been <br /> approved by the Architectural Committee and Staff . Funds were <br /> available in the Capital Improvement Budget . <br /> In response to questions by Council , City Manager advised that <br /> landscaping would involve small planting "pockets " , rather than <br /> a great deal of landscaping , and would be more decorative than <br /> shade -producing . First consideration was to get the shelter con- <br /> structed . He indicated that the major portion of the cost would <br /> be for the structure and lighting .
