481 Councilman Keckley requested an explanation of the services offered by the accounting firm, especially with regard to the statement that they do not confirm the complete record of the City ' s funds . Mr . Dick Cortopassi of C . G . Uhlenberg & Co . explained that the services included are normal and that expanded services such as confirming receivables would increase the amount of the contract . In response to a question by Mayor Bury regarding real property inventory , Mr . Cortopassi explained this includes vehicles , sewers , streets , water pipes , office furniture and fixtures , etc . Some of these things go back to the beginning of Redwood City and there are no records in many cases . It is therefore impossible to determine the real inventory , as they would be required to use a historical cost basis and this is not available . All municipalities face this same problem . The audit report contains an exception which is recognized by the State of California . It simply states that the overall financial condition of the City cannot be ascertained because the records are not available . Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Henderson being noted absent . CONSENT CALENDAR : ( a) DAMAGE CLAIMS : (1 ) Frank M, and Frances A . Ramirez , 1166 Parkwood Way , Redwood City , property damages due to flooding allegedly as a result of City negligence ; ( 2 ) Bessie A . Louda , 107 Montalvo Road , Redwood City , personal injuries incurred in traffic accident allegedly resulting from improper manual control of traffic at intersection by City employee . ( Council action will deny the claims and refer to insurance carrier . ) (MINUTE ORDER #71 - 1A and #71 - 1B) ( b) DAMAGE CLAIM : Peninsula Opticians , 2744 Broadway , Redwood City , property damages allegedly resulting when Police Officer stepped through plaster board ceiling during investigation of suspected robbery .
