- , 7 i7t <br /> Councilman Weymouth further recommended that Raul Jaramillo be appointed <br /> to fill the vacancy on the Planning Commission created by the resignation <br /> of Mr . Williams . <br /> After relinquishing the gavel to Councilman Petersen, Vice-Mayor Keckley <br /> seconded the nomination of Mr . Williams , noting his outstanding service <br /> on the Planning Commission and stating that he would bring to the Council <br /> the businessman ' s skills which are needed inthe fiscal operation of a <br /> City of this size . <br /> There being no further nominations , Councilman Henderson moved that the <br /> nominations be closed , seconded by Councilman Rhodes , and carried . <br /> On roll call vote , motion to appoint James S . Williams carried unanimously, <br /> Mayor Bury being noted absent . (MINUTE ORDER #71 - 15) <br /> James S . Williams expressed his appreciation <br /> for the vote of confidence given him by the <br /> Council and thanked his supporters for their <br /> interest and help in the past . He stated that <br /> he was looking forward to working with Council <br /> and continuing his involvement in City government . <br /> Councilman Henderson nominated Raul Jaramillo to the vacancy on the Planning <br /> Commission , stated she was pleased to support the recommendation of <br /> Councilman Weymouth . She noted Mr . Jaramillo ' s outstanding personal <br /> qualifications for service to the City in a number of areas on the Planning <br /> Commission and in the total community , particularly his qualification of <br /> being fluently bilingual . <br /> Councilman Petersen seconded the nomination, stating that Redwood City is <br /> most fortunate in being able to have a man of Mr . Jaramillo ' s ability to <br /> serve on the Planning Commission , noting that he is not only articulate <br /> and knowledgeable but completely interested in the community and very <br /> anxious to be of help , <br /> There be?ng no further nominations , Councilman Weymouth moved that the <br /> nominations be closed , seconded by Councilman Petersen , and carried . <br /> On roll call vote , motion to appoint Raul Jaramillo to the Planning <br /> Commission carried unanimously , Mayor Bury being noted absent . (MINUTE <br /> ORDER #71- 16) <br /> Vice -Mayor Keckley noted that Mr , Williams and Mr . Jaramillo would be sworn <br /> in at the next Council meeting . <br />
