<br /> Invocation led by Monsignor Joseph D . Munier , Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church .
<br /> ON ROLL CALL , the following were noted present : Councilmen Mary W . Henderson ,
<br /> Ray A . Weymouth , James S . Williams , Mayor Robert H . Bury, and Acting City
<br /> Clerk Frances I . Reggetts , Councilmen Keckley , Petersen , and Rhodes being
<br /> noted absent . ( Councilman Petersen entered the meeting at 7 :40 P . M . and
<br /> Councilman Rhodes at 8 : o6 P . M . ) Also noted present were City Manager
<br /> Howard C . Ullrich , City Attorney David E . Schricker , Police Chief John R .
<br /> McDonald , Jr . , Fire Chief John Keller , City Auditor-Accountant Jack Ference ,
<br /> City Treasurer-Collector Harriet Drivon , Chief Building Official Charles
<br /> Gyselbrecht , Planning Director Ken Schroeter , Recreation Director Alfred S .
<br /> Morton , Construction Engineer William T . Martin , Deputy Director of Public
<br /> Works Warren Mitchell , and Acting Secretary Evelyn Styler .
<br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to approve , as mailed , Minutes of Regular Meeting of
<br /> February 1 , 1971 , seconded by Councilman Henderson , and carried .
<br /> Mayor Bury , noting that Councilmen Petersen and Rhodes had been detained , deferred
<br /> Item 1 , PUBLIC HEARING , Weed Abatement Program , 1971 , until later on the
<br /> agenda .
<br /> REPORT OF BID OPENING , pH Measurement and Recording Instruments .
<br /> The following bids had been received :

<br /> Wallace & Tiernan , S . F . 4 , 997 . 00
<br /> Chlorine Specialties , Inc . , S . F . 5 , 95 7 . 75
<br /> Staff Estimate : $6 , 000
<br /> Staff recommended acceptance of low bid of Beckman Instruments , Inc .
<br /> Councilman Petersen entered the meeting at 7 : 40 P . M.
<br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6453 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR
<br /> THE FURNISHING OF TWO pH MEASURING AND RECORDING INSTRUMENTS , seconded by
<br /> Councilman Weymouth .
<br /> In response to Council questions , Deputy Director of Public Works stated
<br /> that Staff was pleased with the favorable bid of Beckman Instruments , noting
<br /> that the firm was well recognized in the field of water pollution control ,
<br /> and recommended adoption of the resolution .
