0 <br /> Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Keckley and Rhodes being noted <br /> absent . <br /> PUBLIC HEARING , Weed Abatement Program, 1971 , declared open and affidavits of <br /> publication ordered filed . There were no communications . Council , on <br /> January 11 , 1971 , adopted Resolution declaring weeds a nuisance and setting <br /> the public hearing for this date . Bids were opened in the City Clerk ' s office <br /> on February 8th . The following bids were received : <br /> Roberts Company , Burlingame $20 , 295 <br /> C . J . Simms Company , Inc . , Cupertino 22 , 322 <br /> Dehoff Tractor Service , San Carlos 22 , 540 corrected <br /> Engineer ' s Estimate : $23 , 450 <br /> Staff recommended that the low bid of Roberts Company be accepted . <br /> In response to Council questions , City Manager and Construction Engineer <br /> stated that to their knowledge City had not received a bid from the Roberts <br /> Company previously , Construction Engineer had checked with the City of <br /> Millbrae , which has had a contract with Roberts Company , and received <br /> favorable comments , He stated he was satisfied that they were a reputable <br /> firm . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved that the public hearing be closed , seconded by <br /> Councilman Petersen, and carried . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6454 ORDERING STREET <br /> SUPERINTENDENT TO ABATE WEEDS, DIRT, RUBBISH AND RANK GROWTHS , seconded by <br /> Councilman Weymouth , and carried on roll call vote , Councilmen Keckley and <br /> Rhodes being noted absent , and Councilman Williams abstaining . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6455 AWARDING CONTRACT IN <br /> CONNECTION WITH THE WEED ERADICATION PROGRAM IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> seconded by Councilman Henderson , and carried on roll call vote , Councilman <br /> Keckley and Rhodes being noted absent , and Councilman Williams abstaining . <br /> Item 3 , Salaries and Fringe Benefits - Redwood City Employees , was deferred until <br /> later on the agenda to permit Councilman Rhodes to participate in the deliberations . <br /> ABAG Budget and Annual Dues . <br /> The proposed ABAG Budget had been provided to Council members for their <br /> review . Councilman Henderson , Council ' s representative to ABAG, had re - <br /> quested the matter be set for discussion prior to the Annual Meeting on <br /> February 18th , to obtain Council guidance , <br />
