31 <br /> Motion to approve the ABAG Executive Committee Resolution carried on roll <br /> call vote , Councilman Petersen voting no , and Councilman Keckley and Rhodes <br /> being noted absent . (MINUTE ORDER #71-27) <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6456 ESTABLISHING AND DECLARING <br /> DESIGNATED ENTRANCES TO DESIGNATED INTERSECTIONS TO BE STOP ENTRANCES ; AND <br /> ELIMINATING CERTAIN HERETOFORE ESTABLISHED STOP ENTRANCES , seconded by <br /> Councilman Henderson . <br /> Resolution involves three intersections adjacent to Woodside Road : Kentucky <br /> Street , Maryland Street , and Carolina Avenue . This action was recommended <br /> by the Traffic Committee . Plats of the area had been furnished to Council . <br /> In response to questions by Council , Police Chief affirmed the recommendations , <br /> advising these refinements were in relation to the Woodside Road widening . <br /> Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Keckley and Rhodes being noted <br /> absent . <br /> Mayor Bury , noting that Mr . Reuben L . Haynes , who has just completed two years <br /> as Chairman of the Neighborhood Development Council , was in the audience , <br /> commended and thanked him for his service to the community . <br /> Councilman Williams moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6457 ESTABLISHING CHARGES FOR <br /> THE USE OF MUNICIPAL SWIMMING POOLS ; AND, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO . 5690 , <br /> seconded by Councilman Weymouth . <br /> Park and Recreation Commission at their meeting in January voted to recommend <br /> to Council that swim lesson fees be increased to $4 . 00 for ten half-hour <br /> lessons . This would conform to Red Cross charges instituted last year . Staff <br /> recommended that the Commission recommendation be approved by Council , and <br /> that Resolution 5690 establishing swim pool rates be appropriately amended . <br /> Councilman Henderson expressed concern that raising the rates would work a <br /> hardship on needy families with several children . <br /> Councilman Rhodes entered the meeting at 8 : 06 P . M. <br /> Recreation Director stated that they would continue to work with the County <br /> Welfare Department as they had done in the past to assure that needy children <br /> would be able to use the pools . He also stated that service clubs in Redwood <br /> City support the program to assure that no children would be deprived of pool <br /> use . <br /> Councilman Henderson suggested that these opportunities should be publicized <br /> at the same time that the new rates are announced . <br /> r <br />
