The Bridge Connection project is moving along satisfactorily . The final pavement has been laid , and all that remains is some minor work in terms of landscaping and reestablishing landscaping that was disrupted in construction . Weather permitting , this also will be finished this month . The winter maintenance program on which Council called for bids at the last meeting will be back to Council for consideration of bids on January 25th . Water tank plans and specifications are coming along and hopefully will be brought to Council next week for call for bids . The sewerage system reliability study which was discussed last month has been put into motion and a report to Staff is expected to be ready the end of this month . With respect to budget and financial control , a preliminary run of financing has been completed and is scheduled for discussion with Staff this Thursday . The levee study which is a continuing analysis and preliminary design for future levee improvements is under way . Drilling and sampling have commenced . Mayor Bury asked Mr . Reiter to comment more on the sewerage system reliability study . Mr , Reiter stated that after receiving authorization to proceed , the work has been started and hopefully a report with recommendations would be brought back to Council before the end of the month . City Manager stated this was in response to Council ' s request that the matter be looked into and a report brought back as to the number of occurrences in the past , the probable causes , and the solution . Councilman Henderson asked if there has been any change in the lagoon condition . Mr . Reiter stated this would be the net effect , as backup systems are being studied to prevent occurrences such as have happened in the past . Manager reported that County Health Department has not lifted the ban , but City has continued to chlorinate through the storm drain system . Councilman Henderson suggested this as the highest priority in the reliability study . Mr . Reiter stated there have been no new occurrences and with the continued chlorination and cool weather there should be no problem . Mayor Bury asked Manager to check further into this matter and report back to Council . (Memo 1- 12 -71 ) Councilman Keckley asked Manager about a previous report that pumping into the deep fall outlet from the Redwood Shores area would commence before the oxidation ponds and the outfall lines from the oxidation ponds are fully used . Manager responded that on recommendation of Jenks & Adamson and DMJM , design provided for a small pump system out of the chlorination tanks at the oxidation ponds and into the SCSP outfall .
