GO
Relative to No . 4 , Councilman Henderson expressed support of the position
taken , and regret that San Francisco was proceeding without more considera-
tion .
— 1
Mayor Bury noted interest had been indicated to reactivate Golf Club
Committee . In further discussion, Council expressed concern that the
Public Utilities Commission apparently not concerned in involving City
in the use and planning of the watershed lands . City Manager advised
that there have been communications with PUC . Problem is at staff level ,
with no one knowing location of the proposed golf courses . A definitive
answer was needed from PUC as to what land is available to private
bidders , and what is necessary to legally enter into bid procedure .
Councilman Henderson indicated concern as to whether the Master Plan was
being followed , and if the lands to be developed adjacent to City would
want the opportunity to be involved . She felt it would be appropriate
for Mayor Bury to direct a letter in this regard , and also that the Golf
Club Committee should be reactivated . Councilman Keckley felt a letter
to the Commission would be futile .
Councilman Williams felt it might be premature to reactivate the Golf Club
Committee , but dedicated people interested in golf course might be willing
to work at it . He requested a report back, and moved that the matter be
an item on the agenda for next week (March 15th ) , seconded by Councilman
Henderson and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #71-43 )
Councilman Petersen moved to accept communications with appropriate actions ,
seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried . (MINUTE ORDER #71-44)
Mayor Bury advised that Executive Session as called for on the agenda would
not be necessary .
Councilman Keckley nominated Larry Schenck for reappointment to the Park
and Recreation Commission .
Mayor Bury relinquished the chair to Vice Mayor Keckley in order to nominate
Reuben Haynes for a term on the Park and Recreation Commission , noting
he was Past President of the Neighborhood Council , active in the Mount
Zion Baptist Church , as well as other community activities .
Councilman Henderson moved to adjourn , seconded by Councilman Petersen and
carried .
