r7 0 <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR : <br /> ( a ) Adoption of ORDINANCE NO . 1130 . 122 ADDING SECTION 2 . 56 TO , AND <br /> AMENDING SECTION 2 . 58 OF , ORDINANCE NO , 1130 , THE ZONING ORDINANCE <br /> OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO THE FRONTAGE OF CORNER <br /> LOTS ; <br /> (b ) Adoption of ORDINANCE NO , 1130 . 123 ADDING SECTIONS 2 . 53 AND 32 . 12 <br /> TO ORDINANCE NO . 1130 , THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY, RELATING TO PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR "HOUSING FOR THE ELDERLY" ; <br /> Ordinances were introduced at Council <br /> meeting of March 8 , 1971 , and affidavits <br /> of publication were noted on file . <br /> ( c ) ACCOUNTS PAYABLE , Nos . 83233 to 83375 , inclusive , totaling <br /> $213 , 299 . 58 . <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to approve CONSENT CALENDAR , Items (a ) , (b ) and ( c ) , <br /> seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote , <br /> COMMUNICATIONS : <br /> 1 , League of Women Voters of South San Mateo County asking City <br /> support of proposed $40 million bond election for purchase of <br /> park lands in County of San Mateo . <br /> 2 , Committee for Green Foothills regarding use of certain chemicals <br /> in controlling tree growth . <br /> Council discussed the proposed bond election in June , and generally <br /> indicated approval of the issue , but felt that the time interval was <br /> too short . Councilman Henderson suggested that response should be made <br /> to the Board of Supervisors , endorsing the proposal , and urging the <br /> Board to consider establishing a date for election , and use caution <br /> in setting tie date . It was also felt response should indicate City <br /> did not accept the June date . <br /> With reference to the use of growth retardant chemicals , Mayor Bury noted <br /> that he had observed spraying equipment used by utility companies , and <br /> questioned whether this might be detrimental to human health . He felt <br /> this should be referred to Staff for response , City Manager advised that <br /> for the past three years the herbicide has been used to retard growth under <br /> utility lines . Mayor Bury requested the matter be referred to Staff for <br /> continuing observation , and to respond to the Committee . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to accept the communications and recommendations <br /> for making appropriate response , seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER #71 - 51 ) <br />
