180 <br />Planning Commission had on April 14, 1970 unanimously approved recommendation that <br />exception be authorized, to allow a corner lot to have a width of 55 feet where <br />60 feet is required, and subject to the granting of this exception, approval of <br />the minor subdivision to subdivide one parcel into two parcels. (Report was <br />submitted to Council) <br />Planning Director explained that the intention was to shift the lot line in <br />order to make better use of the property, and better equalize the widths of <br />the two lots. With approval of Council to permit subdivision, no further <br />variance would be required. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 6279 GRANTING EXCEPTION TO CERTAIN <br />PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 30 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, BEING THE <br />SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY - H. BUICKEROOD, seconded <br />by Councilman Arnett and carried on roll call vote. <br />REPORT OF BID OPENING, Steel Equipment for Water, Street and Park Department areas, <br />Municipal Services Center. The following bids were received: <br />Green -Penny <br />Company <br />$173629.63 <br />No commitment is made in the contract for <br />a specified <br />James A. Old <br />& Son <br />233548.35 <br />Staff recommended that the low bid of Green -Penny Company be accepted. City <br />Manager described the equipment as shelving, bins, racks and similar storage <br />materials, and advised that funds were provided. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6280 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE <br />FURNISHING OF STEEL EQUIPMENT FOR WATER, STREET AND PARK DEPARTMENT AREAS, <br />seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Arnett moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO, 6281 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br />THE PURCHASE OF GASOLINE FOR THE PERIOD OF JULY 15 1970 - JUNE 30, 1971; AND, <br />AUTHORIZING CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR, seconded by Councilman Rhodes. City Manager <br />advised that cost would involve only actual consumption, that usage in the past <br />ten months amounted to 180,000 gallons of premium at 21 cents per gallon. He <br />anticipated a slightly larger quantity would be used next year, but the cost is <br />estimated to <br />remain <br />about the same. <br />No commitment is made in the contract for <br />a specified <br />amount. <br />Motion carried <br />on roll call vote. <br />Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO, 6282 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS <br />FOR THE FURNISHING OF LIQUID CHLORINE FOR THE PERIOD JULY 13 1970, THROUGH <br />JUNE 30, 1971; AND, AUTHORIZING CALL FOR BIDS THEREFORE, seconded by Councilman <br />Petersen. The chemical is intended for use by the treatment plant and cost was <br />estimated to be approximately $20,300. Motion carried on roll call vote. <br />
