<br />Councilman Weymouth moved to approve request of Councilmen Henderson and Rhodes for
<br />approval and expenses to attend Mayors' and Councilmen's Institute in Los Angeles,
<br />May 20, 1970, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #70-76)
<br />Councilman Arnett noted communication from Mayor Bury concerning Commission
<br />appointments, and in the discussion which followed, it was learned that
<br />Mr. Coffis had indicated that due to commitments would not be able to serve
<br />on Park and Recreation Commission, Mr. Knecht had indicated willingness to
<br />serve another term, and Councilman Weymouth placed his name in nomination.
<br />Vice -Mayor Keckley nominated Frank Guida to the Park and Recreation Commission,
<br />and Councilman Arnett placed the names of Gordon Hanson and Mynin Wong in
<br />nomination for Board of Building Review.
<br />Councilman Petersen moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried.

<br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Dixon Arnett, Mary W.
<br />Henderson, Paul C. Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, William C. Rhodes, Ray A. Weymouth,
<br />Mayor Robert H. Bury and City Clerk Marian McCrindle, Also noted present were City
<br />Manager Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney David E. Schricker, Assistant City Manager
<br />Henry V. Burget, Deputy Police Chief Joel Mansfield, Fire Chief John Keller, Chief
<br />Building Official Charles Gyselbrecht, Director of Public Works J. Louis Scherer,
<br />Planning Director Ken Schroeter, City Auditor -Accountant Jack Ference, City
<br />Treasurer Harriet Drivon, Personnel Director Alfred Wi_ers, and Secretary Frances
<br />Ozzanto.
<br />Councilman Keckley moved to approve Minutes of Regular Meeting of April 27, 1970 as
<br />mailed, subject to additions and/or corrections, seconded by Councilman Weymouth.
<br />Councilman Henderson requested, in the matter of Public Hearing on Abatement of
<br />Nuisance, 850, 852, 854 Main Street, that the record show the fact that William
<br />Royer was sworn in by Mayor Bury prior to making his statement before Council.
<br />City Attorney requested addition that reports and documents submitted were entered
<br />into evidence. Motion carried.
<br />Community Progress Report
<br />City Manager advised that construction progress in Redwood Shores would be reported
<br />on by James Reiter, of DMJM, Project Manager for Redwood Shores.
<br />Mr. Reiter stated that during the past month, construction
<br />projects worth over $400,000 had been completed; that they
<br />had under contract seven different projects totaling
<br />$4,400,000, with $1,200,000 remaining to be completed. He
<br />advised that Dolphin 1 Subdivision would be completed
<br />within a few days, as well as 1969-70 Dewatering Project.
<br />Next month there would be five projects under way. He
<br />commented briefly on the Corps of Engineers -FHA report,
