(Copies submitted to Council.) ABAG, requesting information on changes in Council representative and alternate. (Mayor's list of recommended Council Committee appointments renamed Councilman Henderson as Representative and Vice -Mayor Keckley as Alternate.) K. R. Boyd, Study Course Director, American Water Works Association, 1990 Newcomb Avenue, San Francisco, addressed to Mayor Bury, expressing gratitude and appreciation to City for participation as speaker by Warren J. Mitchell, Water Superintendent, in program on April 13 of AWWA Spring Study Course. (Read in full by City Clerk at request of Mayor Bury.) Mrs, H. E. Smith, 1970 General Show Chairman, Redwood City Annual Spring Flower and Art Show, addressed to Mayor Bury, requesting May 11 through May 17 be designated Flower Show Week in Redwood City. (Mayor Bury requested copies be provided to Council.) Mayor Bury commented on some suggested changes in connection with the student Government Affairs Program, and Councilman Rhodes indicated intention to hold a meeting with the students in the hope of having them participate more actively. Mayor Bury had previously submitted his recommended list of Council Committee appointees for consideration by Council, and Councilman Weymouth moved to endorse the Mayor's recommendations, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. Councilman Henderson advised that she had been requested by ABAG to represent them by test°fying before State Commission on Environmental Quality, Mayor Bury expressed appreciation for her representation of Council and the quality of that representation. Councilman Petersen noted that as a result of former Councilman Rosselli's decision not to run for re-election, there was a. vacancy on the League of California Cities Transportation Committee, and that he had received an invitation to accept appointment from the President of the State League. A meeting will be held in Sacramento this month and approval to attend was requested. Councilman Keckley moved to approve attendance and travel expenses for Councilman Petersen in connection with meeting in May of the Transportation Committee of the League of California Cities, at Sacramento, seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #70-79) Mayor Bury advised of a request from Staff for waiver of requirement that budget must be submitted by May 1st, and allow delay of submittal of the budget until May 25, Councilman Petersen moved to approve the request, seconded by Councilman Keckley.
