W <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO, 1442, APPROPRIATING SUM OF $3,750 <br />FROM UNAPPROPRIATED BALANCE OF BUDGETED RESERVES OF GENERAL FUND TO PROVIDE FOR <br />DEVELOPMENT OF MINI PARKS WITHIN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, seconded by Councilman Arnett <br />and carried on roll call vote, Councilman Petersen being noted absent. <br />DAMAGE CLAIM of Angelo Pappas, 249 Harrison Street, for damages to automobile and <br />personal injuries alleged to have been caused by City's negligence where street <br />improvements were being installed, denied and referred to insurance carrier on <br />motion of Councilman Weymouth, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER # 70-12) <br />Seismic Advisory Board, <br />Councilman Rosselli moved to authorize City Manager to contact available members <br />of the original Board and contract for their services, seconded by Councilman <br />Arnett, <br />Councilman Henderson inquired if there would be an opportunity for Council to <br />review the scope of work under the new contract in advance, then take action <br />relative to the nature of the work in the project, City Manager reported the <br />Board will be asked to consider all points brought up during discussion, as well <br />as data accrued since preparation of the first report. Also that criteria can be <br />furnished to Council before work is begun. He advised that under the previous <br />arrangement, contract was negotiated for consulting fee on a daily basis, there- <br />fore, the criteria established will determine the cost for services, Motion <br />carried, (MINUTE ORDER # 70-13) <br />ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, Nos. 75904 to 76039, inclusive, totaling $516,717.52, approved on <br />motion of Councilman Keckley, seconded by Councilman Arnett, <br />Councilman Henderson questioned whether travel expense request of Mayor Bury <br />submitted with agenda material was included, and was informed this will appear <br />on the next warrant list. Motion carried, <br />Relative to the matter of two vacancies on the Personnel Board, Councilman Rosselli <br />advised that Edward J. Voss has indicated that due to press of business, he would <br />not be able to accept another term. Councilman Rosselli then nominated Frank <br />Guida, who has previously served an incompleted term on this Board. It was noted <br />that Councilman Henderson had previously nominated Walter Small for reappointment. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Mr, and Mrs. Frank LaRocca, owners of property at <br />1425 Kentfield Avenue, suggesting City consider a <br />weekly collection of cuttings free of charge, since <br />outdoor burning of rubbish prohibited as of January <br />1, 1970, and stating this service is extended to property <br />owners in City of San Mateo and in Santa Clara County, <br />Council recommended this be referred to Staff, together with similar inquiries <br />for investigation and report. Council discussed this matter briefly and it was <br />indicated the impact of the new regulation would not have as great an impact on —. <br />Redwood City as in certain other areas with larger properties involving greater <br />quantities of garden clippings and similar refuse.
