241 <br />Councilman Henderson moved to accept the resignation with regrets and in <br />appreciation for Mrs. Kellogg's long service, and to offer best wishes on <br />her recent marriage, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. (MINUTE <br />ORDER #70-104) <br />Notice of reception and dinner on June 17, 1970, <br />honoring Andrew Rocca, retiring from South San Francisco <br />City Council. (Copies submitted to Council.) <br />Mayor Bury indicated he would respond for Council. (Memo 6-10-70) <br />Mr. and Mrs. Frank Palozzalo, 162 Orchard Avenue, <br />protesting proposed 5% utilities tax. (Copies <br />submitted to Council.) <br />Letter signed by seventeen residents in the area of <br />East Lake Way, requesting several Stop Signs. (Copies <br />submitted to Council.) <br />Mayor Bury requested that the letter be referred to Traffic Committee for <br />recommendation. (Memo 6-10-70) There is some question as to whether the <br />locations are in the City or County. The matter was requested to be placed <br />on the next Regular Meeting Agenda (June 15, 1970). (Memo 6-10-70) <br />State of California Regional Water Quality Control <br />Board, San Francisco Bay Region, Agenda for Special <br />Meeting on Tuesday, June 9, 1970, in auditorium of <br />Alameda County Public Works Building, Hayward, which <br />included consideration of existing Cease & Desist Orders, <br />Redwood City and others. (Copies submitted to Council.) <br />City Manager reported he had received communication on the matter and had <br />attempted to reach the Board that day. As soon as determination made of <br />response, he will advise Council, expected to be in form of report of Staff. <br />(Memo 6-10-70) <br />Dumbarton Fire Protection District Commissioners <br />(Devonna Green, Secretary) advising of their motion <br />to refuse to do business with the County Manager. <br />(Copies submitted to Council.) <br />It was felt by Council that Special Districts Committee should direct <br />reaffirmation of Council's position as to communicating with the Fire District. <br />(Memo 6-9-70) <br />Mayor Bury noted additional nomination for vacancy on the Planning Commission, <br />of Mr. Fred Soderer, submitted by Councilman Rhodes, <br />Councilman Henderson advised of Legislative Committee meeting on Wednesday, <br />June loth, at 7:30 a.m. <br />Mayor Bury noted this was the last meeting in the current school term for <br />participation by the Government Affairs Program students, and his counterpart <br />on the Council, Dan Elliott, expressed thanks to the Council for the <br />opportunity to attend, and stated the program was of great value. He <br />advised that the students met on Tuesdays following Council meetings, for <br />the benefit of those who did not have the opportunity to attend. <br />
