255 <br />Municipal Transit Fund Summary - Approved. <br />Councilman Petersen, Chairman of Transportation Committee, advised funds now <br />available for purchase of additional bus and Committee intended to investigate <br />a new manufactured one as soon as possible. Council also advised it would soon <br />be possible to cover maintenance of buses by Staff at Municipal Services Center <br />which will mean savings of costs. It was also noted expense on buses had <br />included new engines which had been anticipated when purchased after 100,000 <br />miles and then hoped for two years of operation thereafter. It was noted main <br />problem of this particular bus had been braking system and reason interested <br />in looking for other manufacturers for a better vehicle. <br />Mayor Bury reported he had been contacted only recently by a crippled "Fun <br />After Fifty" member who had asked if it would be possible to arrange for <br />wheelchairs to get in and out of the Veterans Memorial Building outside doors <br />and special equipment be invested for installation in the restrooms. <br />General Improvements District Summary - Approved. <br />General discussion held concerning various phases of the District GID 1-64, <br />Redwood Shores, in response to questions asked by those present to advise <br />of tax structure of the district and relation to City. City Manager also <br />reported on Oxidation Ponds. <br />Councilman Petersen moved to adjourn meeting at 9:00 A,M., June 13th, Veterans <br />Memorial Building, 1455 Madison Avenue, seconded by Councilman Rhodes and <br />carried. <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:05 P.M. <br />MARIAN McCRINDLE, City Clerk <br />Minutes of Adjourned Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />June 13, 1970 9:00 A,M, <br />Veterans Memorial Building <br />Mayor Bury called the meeting to order at 9:20 AOM, Roll call was taken, with the <br />following noted present: Councilman Dixon Arnett, Mary W. Henderson, Paul C. <br />Keckley, Herbert G. Petersen, William C. Rhodes, Ray A. Weymouth, Mayor Robert H. <br />Bury and City Clerk Marian McCrindle. Also noted present were City Manager <br />Howard C. Ullrich, Assistant City Manager Henry V. Burget, City Auditor - <br />Accountant Jack Ference, and Personnel Director Alfred Wiers, <br />Mayor Bury indicated the remaining items to be considered were Personnel and <br />Revenue projections. However, some questions remained concerning expense items. <br />
