Traffic Committee recommends that they be <br />relocated on Middlefield Road between Bradford and Veterans Boulevard. <br />Currently there is no zoning on Middlefield at this point. <br />Councilman Weymouth moved to introduce Ordinance amending Sections 20.132.4, <br />20.132.10, and 20.132.15 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, relating <br />to parking meters, seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried. <br />(5) 20 additional feet of parking restrictions - Middlefield Road. Traffic <br />Committee recommended 20 additional feet adjacent to County parking lot, due <br />to poor sight distance for traffic leaving the lot. A large volume of outflow <br />traffic makes left turns to connect with Veterans Blvd. and Bayshore, and i.t <br />was indicated that anything other than a normal size vehicle parked on Middle- <br />field causes a. hazard. <br />City Manager noted that this was an administrative matter, but that if Council <br />inclined to do so, a motion to ratify might be in order. <br />Councilman Arnett moved to approve 20 feet of addi-tional red curb under <br />administrative provision of the Municipal Code, seconded by Councilman Henderson <br />and carried. (MINUTE ORDER #70-126) <br />Councilman Henderson indicated there were some matters which it was hoped would be <br />examined and reports made to Council, one having to do with planning proposed <br />for Edgewcod Road cloverleaf at Junipero Serra: another was possibility of <br />temporary limited 15 -minute parking during an election day in front of St. Peter's <br />Episcopal Church since answer in "Action Line" had stated this was impossible <br />and she couldn't see why it couldn't be considered. She also questioned another <br />item in "Action Line" having to do with widening Alameda, and the response by <br />Staff. (Memo 7-7-70) <br />State Cooperative Personnel Services <br />Mr, Bruce Austin, Northern California Manager of State Cooperative Personnel <br />Services, reported on the proposed salary -setting policy, reviewing how the <br />City's examining practices and problems with existing pay practices led to <br />establishment of a committee, which consisted of one Councilman, Mrs. Henderson, <br />Assistant City Manager and Personnel Director, several Department Heads, and <br />representatives from the three employee associations. A series of four meetings <br />had been held, in which were discussed difficulties in the old salary -setting <br />practice and development of a new plan. It was felt the new procedure will <br />properly place emphasis on job to job comparisons, and that lack of weight on <br />
