316 <br />Councilman Henderson advised she had been asked to participate in meeting in Sacramento <br />on August 13, 14, and 15, 1970, of the California Association of Women Highway Safety, <br />and requested permission to attend. Councilman Arnett moved to approve attendance <br />of Councilman Henderson as requested, seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #70-135) <br />Mayor Bury reminded Council that they would meet as Board of Equalization on July 20th <br />at 10:00 a.m., at the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, <br />Councilman Arnett moved to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried. <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br />MARIAN McCRINDLE, City Clerk <br />Minutes of the Board of Equalization <br />for GID 1-64 <br />July 20, 1970 10:00 A.M. <br />Redwood City Council <br />Community Activities Building <br />Meeting called to order by Mayor Bury at 10:03 A.M. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Dixon Arnett, William C. Rhodes, <br />Ray A. Weymouth, Mayor Robert H. Bury and City Clerk Marian McCrindle, Councilmen <br />Mary W. Henderson, Paul Co Keckley and Herbert G. Petersen were noted absent. (Coun- <br />cilman Petersen entered the meeting at 10:05 A.M.) Also noted present were City Manager <br />Howard C. Ullrich, City Attorney David E. Schricker, City Assessor Jack Ference, and <br />Secretary Frances Reggetts. <br />Also noted present was Frank Riggs, of Marshall & Stevens, Inc., City's Appraisal Con- <br />sultants for GID 1-64. <br />Mayor Bury declared the public hearing open, and affidavit of publication of notice of <br />meeting date and time ordered filed, stating the meeting was held for the purpose of <br />equalizing assessments of property, District GID 1-64, for the fiscal year 1970-1971, <br />as prepared and certified by the City Auditor -Assessor, <br />City Clerk reported application for assessment adjustment had been submitted by John G. <br />Murphy, 421 Luff Lane, Redwood City. (Copies to Council) It was noted Mr. Murphy <br />was not present on behalf of his application; however, City Attorney advised while <br />Mr. Murphy had the right to be present, his appearance was represented by his ap- <br />plication. The Board should review the application to determine if it should be <br />honored, and if so, should move that the particular assessment should be reduced <br />in accordance with the terms. <br />City Manager advised that the application had been reviewed by Staff and they were pre- <br />pared to report. City Assessor commented briefly on the application and stated that <br />it was the recommendation of Staff that the request for adjustment be honored, <br />There being no further applications for reduction of assessments, nor anyone present <br />requesting to be heard, Councilman Weymouth moved to close the public hearing, seconded <br />by Councilman Petersen and carried, <br />
