326 <br />Councilman Arnett moved to instruct the ABAG Delegate to vote for approval <br />of the Regional Plan, seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried, Council- <br />man Rhodes voting no, and Councilman Henderson being noted absent. <br />(MINUTE ORDER #70-141) <br />DAMAGE CLAIMS: (1) Velna Henrich, heir of Bertha Hargett, 649 Old County Road, <br />Belmont, for reimbursement of expenses from death of relative, alleged to <br />have been caused in collision due to inadequate traffic controls; (2) <br />Dora Shearer, 438 Cavanaugh, San Mateo, for personal injuries alleged to <br />have been incurred in collision due to inadequate traffic controls; <br />(3) Nona Darnall, 649 Old County Road Belmont, for reimbursement of expenses <br />from death of relative, alleged to have been caused in collision due to <br />inadequate traffic controls; (4) Nona Darnall, 649 Old County Road, Belmont, <br />for personal injuries alleged to have been caused in collision due to inadequate <br />traffic controls, denied and referred to insurance carrier on motion of <br />Councilman Petersen, seconded by Councilman Rhodes and carried. (MINUTE <br />ORDERS #70-142-A, -B, -C, -D) <br />City Attorney advised that a few remaining parcels remained to be acquired in <br />connection with Project SD -29, and action was requested to expedite. <br />Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO. 6345 FINDING AND DETERMINING <br />THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE ACQUISITION AND <br />CONSTRUCTION BY THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF A PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT, NAMELY, <br />STORM AND FLOOD WATER DRAINAGE FACILITIES, IN AND UPON THAT CERTAIN REAL <br />PROPERTY HEREIN DESCRIBED; THAT THE ACQUISITION OF A RIGHT OF WAY AND <br />EASEMENTS IN SAID REAL PROPERTY HEREIN DESCRIBED IS NECESSARY FOR SAID PUBLIC <br />IMPROVEMENTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO BRING AN ACTION IN EMINENT <br />DOMAIN TO ACQUIRE SAID REAL PROPERTY AND TO APPLY FOR AN ORDER OF IMMEDIATE <br />POSSESSION OF SAID REAL PROPERTY; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DEPOSIT MONEY FOR IMMEDIATE POSSESSION OF SAID REAL PROPERTY, <br />seconded by Councilman Petersen and carried on roll call vote, Councilman <br />Henderson being noted absent. <br />ACCOUNTS PAYABLE NOs. 79472 to 79563, inclusive, totaling $145,854.95, approved <br />for payment on motion of Councilman Keckley, seconded by Councilman Weymouth. <br />On question, Councilman Arnett indicated concern with regard to Warrant 79563 <br />amounting to $60.00, payable to Patricia Elliott to attend a conference, and <br />questioned whether this was setting a precedent for paying expenses of <br />non -employees, Mayor Bury explained the circumstances, in which he had been <br />approached by Mrs. Elliott and Chairman of the Neighborhood Council, who asked <br />
