Motion carried.
(MINUTE ORDER #70-145)
Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO. 1464 REPEALING DIVISION 2 OF
ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO
THE VETERANS MEMORIAL COMMISSION, RESERVING THE DIVISION HEADING OF SAID
DIVISION 2; AMENDING SECTIONS 25.3, 25.4 and 25.15 OF SAID CODE TO PROVIDE
THAT THE DUTIES OF THE PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION SHALL INCLUDE MAINTENANCE,
OPERATION AND ADMINISTRATION OF THE VETERANS MEMORIAL BUILDING; AND REPEALING
SECTION 25.17 OF SAID CODE REQUIRING THE CITY TREASURER TO MAINTAIN A SEPARATE
PARK AND RECREATION ACCOUNT, seconded by Councilman Keckley.
Councilman Keckley expressed concern that Park and Recreation Commission will
carry out the same rules and regulations as to governing and regulating the
building as under the Veterans Memorial Commission.
