105 <br />DAMAGE CLAIM of George Dobson, 510 Upton Street, Redwood City, for property damage <br />alleged to have been caused by hole in City street denied and referred to <br />insurance carrier on motion of Councilman Petersen, seconded by Councilman <br />Keckley and carried. (MINUTE ORDER # 70-30) <br />ACCOUNTS PAYABLE Nos. 76355 through 76573 totaling $457,965.79 were approved, <br />excepting Warrant No. 76541 for $10,173.65, issued to "George Congoon", or a <br />net amount of $446,792.14, on motion of Councilman Keckley and seconded by <br />Councilman Arnett. It was assumed the payee should have read "George Congdon", <br />and Councilman Arnett suggested that Warrant be excluded from the Register for <br />confirmation and held until the following Council meeting for consideration. <br />Motion carried. (MINUTE ORDER # 70-31) <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />City Attorney stated he wished to apprise the <br />Council of notice of application of PG&E for <br />authority to increase rates and charges. He <br />stated the form is standard and that ordinarily <br />City does not participate, and that unless we <br />are party to particular knowledge, he recommended <br />no action. <br />Councilman Petersen moved that the City not participate relative to the <br />application of PG&E fm authority to increase rates and charges, seconded by <br />Councilman Henderson and carried. (MINUTE ORDER # 70-32) <br />John H. Fechter, President, Guardsmen Drum & <br />Bugle Corps Booster Club of Police Youth Club <br />of Redwood City, California, Inc., addressed <br />to Mayor Bury, requesting that week of February <br />8 through 15 be proclaimed as "Police Youth <br />Club Week", and also that the members of the <br />Guardsmen Drum & Bugle Corps, be designated <br />as "Official Roving Ambassadors of Goodwill <br />from the City of Redwood City." <br />Councilman Rosselli moved the group be so designated, and that the requested <br />proclamation be prepared, seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried. Mayor <br />Bury noted the presence of Mr. Fechter in the audience. (MINUTE ORDER # 70-33) <br />San Mateo County Fair & Convention Association, <br />P.O. Box 1027, San Mateo, California, announcing <br />18th Annual "Fiestaland Dream Girl Pageant" <br />Friday, June 26, 1970, at San Mateo County Fair- <br />grounds, and inviting City to authorize a local <br />organization to select Miss Redwood City to be <br />candidate in the Pageant. <br />City Clerk informed Council that Mr. Harry Walls, <br />President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, advised <br />that group will be pleased to handle selection of <br />Miss Redwood City as representative in the annual <br />"Fiestaland Dream Girl Pageant." <br />_1 Councilman Petersen moved to accept the offer of the Junior Chamber of Commerce <br />to be authorized to select Miss Redwood City and to carry out the program, <br />seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried. (MINUTE ORDER # 70-34) <br />City of San Mateo, urging support of their <br />Resolution No. 11, urging California Legislature <br />to propose Constitutional Amendments which will <br />_ release Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax Revenues for certain <br />specified purposes. <br />
