112 <br />levee system of Redwood Peninsula adjacent to Steinberger Slough. It was noted <br />also that some portions of levee along Steinberger are not within the City's <br />jurisdiction. Work has been completed as part of Marlin 2 Subdivision, and <br />under Leslie participation project. Motion carried on roll call vote, Council- <br />men Keckley and Petersen being noted absent. <br />Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0, 6227 RESCINDING RESOLUTION N0, <br />6181 AND 61821 AND DECLARING CERTAIN DESCRIBED CITY -OWNED REAL PROPERTY SURPLUS. —. <br />AND AUTHORIZING ITS SALE, SUBJECT TO RESERVATION OF EASEMENT AND TO CERTAIN <br />COVENANTS, WITHOUT PUBLIC NOTICE OR BID, seconded by Councilman Weymouth. The <br />action provides for rescinding prior Council action relating to sale of this <br />surplus real property,and approval of revocable permit for use of the surface <br />only of City retained easement for vehicular traffic and parking purposes. A <br />revised grant deed is to be substituted for that previously issued and in lieu <br />of the revocable permit, and is more restrictive than the previous one in that <br />it places specific limitations on use of the surface of the easement area, which <br />limitations were previously incorporated in the Revocable Permit. Motion — <br />carried on roll call vote, Councilmen Keckley and Petersen being noted absent <br />DAMAGE CLAIM of Harry Larmour, #1 Duane, for property damages alleged to have been <br />caused by City -owned and operated vehicle, denied and referred to insurance <br />carrier on motion of Councilman Weymouth, seconded by Councilman Henderson and <br />carried (MINUTE ORDER #70-39) <br />ACCOUNTS PAYABLE, NOS. 76574 to 76712, inclusive, totaling $53,948.79, approved on <br />motion of Councilman Weymouth, seconded Arnett and carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />Assemblyman Robert G. Beverly, Chairman of State <br />Assembly Committee on Finance and Insurance, inform- <br />ing of relief provisions in the Federal Flood and <br />Landslide Program, and procedures for applying for <br />Flood Insurance (copies submitted to Council) <br />This communication was referred to Staff for review. (Memo 2/18/70) <br />League of California Cities, Peninsula Division, <br />notice of meeting Thursday, February 26, 19701 — <br />Rickey's Hyatt House. Palo Alto. <br />Mayor requested that interested Council Members notify City Clerk if reservation <br />is desired. <br />Councilman Henderson advised of Legislative Committee meeting to be held <br />Wednesday, February 25, 1970. <br />Councilman Henderson requested that at the meeting for the next monthly Redwood <br />Shores Report, a progress report be made by Staff on the Civic Center Complex. <br />including an indication of community responsiveness. (Memo 2/18/70) <br />Councilman Arnett added his request for a similar report on the Downtown Improve- <br />ment Plan, suggesting that the major property owners might be invited to be <br />present (Memo 2/18/70) Councilman Rosselli indicated this matter was long overdue, _ <br />and added that another matter of interest would be the results of the downtown <br />traffic survey, since a final report or recommendations had never been made <br />(Memo 2/18/70) <br />Councilman Rosselli also noted that there has been criticism regarding the fact <br />City autos have been reported as being left parked overnight in the street. City <br />Manager requested that if any specific incidents are known he should be ad- <br />vised so that the matter can be taken care of. <br />Councilman Rosselli initiated a brief discussion also regarding the recent <br />
