325 <br /> After discussion of the individual promotional items , Councilman Rosselli moved to <br /> approve the Community Promotion Budget , seconded by Councilman Keckley , The Mayor <br /> stated that inasmuch as community promotion encouraged capital improvements and re - <br /> novation of the City ' s business community , in his estimation the proper source of <br /> funding would be Sales Tax since this was directly derived from expenditures made <br /> in the business community . His suggestion was enthusiastically received by the <br /> Council who concurred that Sales Tax was the appropriate source for funds for this <br /> purpose * <br /> Councilman Henderson requested that $ 1500 be included to furnish City emblems and <br /> $ 1000 for the Cultural Commission be added to the Community Promotion appropriation , <br /> bringing this to a total of $ 55 , 000 , <br /> Staff was requested to check out any needed change in the Sales Tax Allocation Or- <br /> dinance , and if this is required , bring in the amendment in time to be effective <br /> with the Budget . ( Memo 5/16/69 ) <br /> On motion by Councilman Rosselli , seconded by Councilman Keckley , the Community <br /> Promotion Budget was approved as amended . <br /> Councilman Henderson asked that the number of precincts used in City elections be <br /> reduced in order that less money should be spent on election officials and polling <br /> places . After a discussion of this request , Councilman Rosselli moved to approve <br /> the Elections Budget , seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried , <br /> Councilman Roselli left the meeting at 10 : 07 P . M . <br /> The Budget for Non-Departmental Expenses was approved on motion by Councilman Henderson , <br /> seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried . <br /> The Civil Defense Budget was approved as submitted , on motion by Councilman Arnett , <br /> seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried . <br /> The Building Department Budget was briefly reviewed . Councilman Henderson reported <br /> the Personnel Board recommended that the title " Associate Building Inspector " be <br /> changed to "Senior Building Inspector , " <br /> In discussing the requested increase in personnel , Councilman Keckley pointed out <br /> that this subject had been thoroughly discussed by the Council when the request and <br /> report from the Chief Building Official was received some months ago . He , therefore , <br /> moved approval of this Budget as submitted , seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried , <br /> (BUDGET MINUTE ORDER #69-95 ) <br /> Councilman Henderson asked that copies of the Budget be placed in the Schaberg Branch <br /> Library as well as the Main Library . <br /> It was agreed that the remaining Budgets in the General Fund should be studied when <br /> all the Council was present . <br /> On motion by Councilman Henderson , seconded by Councilman Keckley , meeting adjourned <br /> at 10 : 18 P .
