Councilman Arnett moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5990 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "EASTVIEW ANNEXATION NO . 1 , " AND HEREIN DESCRIBED, AND HEREIN ANNEXING SAID TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PURSUANT TO THE .. PROVISIONS OF SECTION 35310 . 1 OF THE GOVERNMENT CODE , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote . Mayor Bury introduced Mr . Frederick Badenoch , staff member of San Francisco Regional Office of the Department of Housing and Urban Development ( HUD) assigned to City for a month ' s training program under the League of California Cities arrangement with IUD for their Staff members to gain a better understanding of City governments . APPEAL of James and Anna Pomposo from denial by the Planning Commission of an application to relocate a property line between two parcels , 933 Eighth Avenue , being portion of Lot 8 , Block 7 , Friendly Acres , presented for consideration . Staff reported applicant had asked that the existing parcel be resubdivided to reduce the depth of one of the lots to 79 feet in order that the remaining property would include a temporary structure used as a garage , some fruit trees , fence , etc , , and that request was denied by the Planning Commission at their meeting of April 22 , 1969 . Mrs . Anna Pomposo appeared in her own behalf to urge Council ' s consent to subdivide their large parcel in a manner which would save the trees planted when they first acquired this property . They now desire to sell off a portion since their retirement , in effort to reduce taxes and maintenance . She stated parcel to be sold would still be in excess of 6 , 000 sq . ft . allow - able for a duplex if lot split allowed for 79 ' depth for parcel to be sold instead of 90 feet . After discussion of lot division requested , review of a map and exception which would have to be made in this instance , Council questioned the possibility of a future application for a lot split into three parcels , if this request is granted . After calculation , Planning Director advised lot area would be a little less than that required for a three lot division , but variance might be requested . City Attorney indicated sale of property could be conditioned on some type of legal arrangement between the two parties concerning trees . Councilman Keckley moved to affirm the action of the Planning Commission and deny the appeal , seconded by Councilman Arnett . It was suggested that property owner investi - gate the possibility of a property restriction when selling in order that trees might be protected in manner they desire . Motion carried ( MINUTE ORDER #69 - 96 ) . REPORT OF BID OPENING , One 1/2 Ton Pick -up Truck , Building Department . The following bids were received : E : Z Davies Chevrolet $2204 . 07 Towne Ford Sales 2319 . 19 Hillsdale Dodge 2323 . 07 Staff recommended award of bid to E - Z Davies Chevrolet , the low bidder , Councilman Arnett moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 5991 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR FURNISHING ONE ONE -HALF TON PICKUP TRUCK, seconded by CouncilmanRosselli . Council asked for assurance that low bidder will meet all specifications , City Manager advised no exceptions were taken to the specifications , and delivery date to be 30 days . NW 19 .69
