3413 <br /> The Fire Department Budget was reviewed and it was agreed that the same amendment , <br /> i . e . , providing survivor ' s disability continuance , would be applied to this Depart - <br /> ment . Thereafter , Councilman Arnett moved , seconded by Councilman Petersen to ap - <br /> prove the Fire Department Budget as amended , to include the Safety Workers benefits . <br /> Motion carried , <br /> The Purchasing Administration Budget was again discussed ( Account #462 ) Councilman <br /> Rosselli moved to revise the requested Budget to provide an Assistant Purchaser in <br /> Range 37 , eliminate the Purchasing Officer , seconded by Councilman Petersen . <br /> Councilman Arnett moved to amend the motion , to add a Junior Typist Clerk in Range <br /> #25 , seconded by Councilman Keckley . This proposal was discussed at some length . <br /> Councilman Arnett thereupon changed his amendment , and moved to increase the part - <br /> time appropriation to provide extra help as needed about two days per week to cost <br /> 33 , 200 , seconded by Councilman Weymouth . On roll call vote the amendment was de- <br /> feated , Councilmen Arnett , Keckley , and Weymouth voting yes , Councilmen Henderson , <br /> Petersen , Rosselli , and Mayor Bury voting no , <br /> CouncilmanArnett again offered his first amendment to add a Junior Typist Clerk <br /> in Range 25 , seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried . <br /> The main motion carried , Councilman Keckley voting no . <br /> The Engineering Administration Budget was approved by Councilman Arnett , seconded <br /> by Councilman Keckley and carried , <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to approve the Streets and Storm Drains Budget , seconded <br /> by Councilman Arnett and carried , Councilman Rosselli voting no . <br /> After discussion of the Park Department Budget , Councilman Henderson moved to de - <br /> lete the two new gardener positions recommended . There was no second to this motion . <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to approve the Park Department Budget , seconded by Council - <br /> man Petersen . Councilman Henderson suggested that sufficient Sales Tax money be made <br /> available to fund a part of this Budget since the increased cost could be attributed <br /> to increased park areas which were acquired through Sales Tax and other Capital Funds . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to amend the allocation of Sales Tax to fund the two new <br /> gardeners , There was no second to this motion . <br /> The main motion then carried , Councilman Henderson voting no . <br /> Councilman Arnett moved to approve the Recreation Department Budget , seconded by <br /> Councilman Keckley . On the question , Councilman Keckley pointed out the need for <br /> renovating the shower and locker rooms at the Community Swim Pool , stating that <br /> they are in very bad condition . The Mayor asked if some of the "hard core " unemployed <br /> could be used in any capacity in either the Park or Recreation Department . The motion <br /> carried , <br /> The Veterans Memorial Budget was approved on motion by Councilman Petersen , seconded <br /> by Councilman Rosselli and carried , <br /> The Library Budget was next considered , Councilman Petersen moved to approve the <br /> Budget as submitted , seconded by Councilman Arnett . Councilman Henderson raised the <br /> question of personnel which would be needed to operate the Schaberg Branch another <br /> env 21 's <br />
