Vice Mayor Petersen had reported that Mayor Bury suggested this item be con -
tinued because of certain concerns which had been expressed in one from or another in
this District , and since no one present from this business group , would recommend Council
take action to continue this item .
Councilman Rosselli inducated he had no objection to acknowledging Mayor Bury ' s request
by continuing this matter , but felt more explicit reasons should have been submitted ,
and also that a definite policy should be established on all continuance requests , and
- all such requests treated equally .
Councilman Arnett entered the meeting at 7 : 50 P . M .
Vice Mayor Petersen concurred if this item continued , a full report should be made to
Council as some questions should be answered as to what benefits had been derived from
this improvement Area , how businessmen in the area felt about its continuance , etc . In
reply to question whether continuance of this item and lapse of agreement would result
in any adverse reactions , City Attorney advised ordinance regarding collection of funds
still in effect and would continue , and a lapse of several weeks in this funding agree -
ment shouldn ' t hamper administration of the District as he was not aware of any impending
programs during this time .
City Clerk in reply to questioning also advised business license renewals , including the
Improvement Tax in the Downtown Area , had been mailed , so would continue to collect such
funds and hold in trust . Motion to continue this item to July 7th carried , Councilman
Arnett abstaining because he was not present for full discussion ( MINUTE ORDER #69 - 127 )
PUBLIC HEARING , Application of STANLEY C .
