392 <br /> FROM THE APPROPRIATION FOR STREET WIDENING AND RECONSTRUCTION OF HARBOR BOULEVARD <br /> TO THE APPROPRIATION FOR STREET WIDENING AND RECONSTRUCTION OF ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS , <br /> AND PROVIDING FOR RE -TRANSFER THEREOF , seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried <br /> on roll call vote , Councilman Rosselli voting no , Councilman Arnett being noted <br /> absent . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION N0 , 6033 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION <br /> OF ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS WIDENING , FERNSIDE STREET TO WOODSIDE ROAD IN THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE TOWN OF WOODSIDE ; REJECTING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED; AUTHOR- <br /> IZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK; AND DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS, <br /> seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote , Councilman Arnett <br /> being noted absent . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6031 DECLARING AND ESTABLISHING JEFFERSON <br /> AVENUE FROM FARM HILL BOULEVARD TO EMERALD HILL ROAD AS A THROUGH STREET , seconded <br /> by Councilman Keckley . <br /> Staff reported Jefferson Avenue from Farm Hill Boulevard to westerly City Limits <br /> is by use a through street and with the completion of the new Fire Station #24 , will <br /> become a fire route as well , and that adoption of this Resolution will assign right <br /> of way for our fire equipment and Jefferson Avenue traffic over intersecting cross <br /> streets . It was noted that stop signs will be installed on Utah Way , Piedmont Way , <br /> Highland Avenue and Vista Drive . Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Arnett <br /> being noted absent . <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to introduce Ordinance relating to modification of parking <br /> restrictions on Hazel Avenue , seconded by Councilman Keckley . <br /> Staff reported this ordinance retains the curb parking prohibition on the south side <br /> of Hazel Avenue between Woodside Road and El Camino Real and on the north side of <br /> Hazel Avenue between El Camino Real and Linden Street , but that permission of curb <br /> parking on the north side of Hazel Avenue between Linden Street and Woodside Road <br /> ( two 11 ' wide travel lanes and an 8 ' wide parking lane ) would be provided between <br /> the existing curb to curb width of 30 ' . It was further reported curb parking is <br /> critical in this area and traffic volume projections for Woodside Road after the <br /> completion of widening do not show sufficient increases to create traffic congestion <br /> on this street . Motion carried . <br /> In reply to question why no Council action had been required to remove parking re - <br /> strictions previously set by Council action , i . e . , Whipple Avenue parking near El <br /> Camino , City Manager explained reason for change of parking restrictions occured <br /> when travel lanes were revised , but would report on the authority for the changes . <br /> Memo 7/8/69 ) <br /> Council also questioned the report which was to have been made on prohibiting all <br /> night parking , particularly noting the semi -trucks and trailers which had been <br /> parked on Veterans Boulevard of late causing a sight hazard to traffic . Council - <br /> man Keckley , Chairman of the Ordinance Review Committee , advised of the study <br /> meetings which had been held on this subject and the problems which couldn ' t be <br /> resolved as it was not possible to discriminate as to type of vehicles for parking <br /> restrictions . Mayor Bury suggested a possible use of the Hetch Hetchy right of <br /> way for parking privileges for campers and truck trailers . Councilman Rosselli <br /> moved to refer this subject to the Ordinance Review Committee for further review , <br /> seconded by Councilman Henderson . <br /> Councilman Keckley amplified his remarks on study that had been made by review of <br />
