v16 <br /> RH- 15 District . <br /> There being no communications or oral protest , Councilman Petersen moved to close <br /> the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried . <br /> Councilman Rosselli moved to introduce ordinance adding Section 60 . 1801 to Ordinance <br /> No . 1130 , the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance , rezoning property in the vicinity <br /> of what is commonly known as 618 -20 East View Way , seconded by Councilman Weymouth <br /> and carried . <br /> PUBLIC HEARING , Weed Abatement Assessments , declared open and affidavits of publication <br /> and posting ordered filed . <br /> Staff report noted the charges for work done under the weed abatement program <br /> have been submitted by the Department of Public Works , showing the cost to each <br /> individual parcel , a total cost of 518 , 408 . 25 . Council requested to consider <br /> and confirm the assessments , after which the list will be forwarded to the County <br /> to be included on the tax bills . <br /> City Clerk advised no written protests or communications had been received relating <br /> to the weed abatement assessments . <br /> Mayor Bury noted receipt of a communication addressed to him from <br /> Leonie E . Schmidt , 1792 Anamor Street , protesting <br /> unsightly conditions of loading area at Lucky <br /> Market on Virginia and Massachusetts , Woodside <br /> Shopping Plaza , and urging abatement of this <br /> nuisance ( copy to be submitted to Council ) _. <br /> Sidney D . Herkner , 55 Turnsworth , asked if all <br /> property owners had been notified of weed abate - <br /> ment charges as in previous year . <br /> Assistant City Manager advised that all property owners had been notified of esti - <br /> mate of costs before the work was done , and prior to this public hearing . <br /> There being no further communications or oral protest , Councilman Petersen moved to <br /> close the public hearing , seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6056 CONFIRMING REPORT OF SUPERINTEN- <br /> DENT OF STREETS OF WEED ABATEMENT , OVERRULING PROTESTS THERETO AND AUTHORIZING DELIVERY <br /> OF REPORT FOR THE ADDITION OF THE ASSESSMENT AMOUNTS TO NEXT REGULAR TAX BILLS AGAINST <br /> PARTICULAR PARCELS CONCERNED, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll <br /> call vote . <br /> Personal Appearance , Clifford M , Boxley , Director of PROBE . <br /> Mayor Bury asked that communication submitted by Mr . Boxley requesting to appear at <br /> this meeting be read in full . Communication read stating need of the so - called <br /> " deprived " residents of City and those areas immediately influencing Redwood City <br /> ( area bounded by Woodside Road on the North, Bayshore Freeway on the East , Cypress <br /> Avenue on the West and Fifth Avenue to the South ) to appear before Council to discuss <br /> needs for a neighborhood facility in the area , and also requesting X5 , 000 from the <br /> City on behalf of the San Mateo County Economic Opportunity Commission to be used to <br /> help support the operational budget of PROBE . <br /> Mr .Boxley , 646 Douglas Avenue , advised he had been <br /> in the PROBE program since October of 19680 He <br /> thereafter read in full the proposal being submit - <br /> ted to both Redwood City and the County of San Mateo <br /> by PROBE Community Center , requesting that City and <br /> County jointly and cooperatively make application to <br /> the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Develop - <br /> ment for funds to be used to finance a public multi - <br /> use building which will meet the needs of the target <br /> PIA 4 '89 <br />
