Copy <br /> of Auditor ' s report furnished to Council . ( See City Clerk ' s File " Tax Ordinance <br /> 1969 -1970" ) Motion carried . <br /> Personnel Board recommendation . The classification of Senior Accountant had been <br /> approved by the Council and funds appropriated , effective October 1 , 1969 , <br /> Specifications have been prepared and approved by Personnel Board for position , in <br /> range 53 , Salary Scale $ 959 - 1199 . <br /> Councilman Arnett moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6082 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br /> POSITION OF SENIOR ACCOUNTANT , seconded by Councilman Henderson . <br /> It was noted this was a new classification to accomodate Council ' s desire for an <br /> internal auditor . Question was raised as to whether it would be appropriate for this <br /> person to report directly to Council and it was noted that all matters should be <br /> cleared through City Manager , since he is directly responsible to Council . City <br /> Manager assured Council reports would be made as is customary in other departmental <br /> activities . <br /> Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Rosselli voting no . <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to introduce Ordinance amending Section 28 of Ordinance <br /> No , 1382 , the Salary Ordinance of the City of Redwood City , relating to position of <br /> Senior Accountant , seconded by Councilman Keckley , and carried , Councilman Rosselli <br /> voting no , <br /> Report of Government Affairs Program was presented by Councilman Keckley of recent <br /> meeting held with Councilman Arnett and himself , Ruth Olds , Dean of Women at <br /> Sequoia High School , Bob Miles , Student Body President , and Mr . Payton , Instructor <br /> at Sequoia , and some of the questions raised by Council were discussed and solutions <br /> suggested , With respect to method of selecting participating students , the Student <br /> Body President would have the responsibility of signing up interested students , then <br /> make recommendations to the Student Council who would then make the final decision . <br /> Participation by other schools was discussed and Mr . Payton had offered to take up <br /> this program with officials of other area schools at a general meeting normally held <br /> early in the year . <br /> It was determined that full semester credit will be given for this work . He stated <br /> that in regard to the type of participation , it was felt that a side -by -side arrange - <br /> ment of seating with counterparts on Council and commissions would offer more benefit <br /> to students': than a separate table . However , the student would not be permitted to <br /> question or cross -examine , although they would be able to offer a written question <br /> to his counterpart , who could then decide if it should be presented . <br />
