<br /> Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6111 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION
<br /> OF BROADWAY CHANNELIZATION AND SIGNALIZATION AT WOODSIDE EXPRESSWAY IMPROVEMENTS ; REJECT -
<br /> ING ALL OTHER BIDS RECEIVED ; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF THE CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK ; AND
<br /> DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS, seconded by Councilman Keckley .
<br /> City Manager advised this contractor is also presently engaged in a substantial
<br /> electrical. contract for Redwood Shores , electrolier instal ] ation for parkways .
<br /> Further comments made concerning need for a better solution of the traffic problems
<br /> at this intersection besides other similar troublesome intersections and suggestion
<br /> made that a full discussion be held by Council on these .
<br /> City Manager advised further discussion of this particular intersection would be
<br /> included later during the presentation of the Ampex expansion program .
<br /> Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Weymouth be ni>' noted absent .

<br /> Staff reported bids were received on September 17th for 37 items , including 24
<br /> nvdrants and appurtenances , A comparison of the bids was submitted to Council .
<br /> Since only one supplier bid all 37 items , Staff recommended award to the respective

<br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6113 APPROVING PLANS FOR THE IMPROVE-
<br /> MENT OF PROPERTY IN THE VICINITY OF 640 VETERANS BOULEVARD , REDWOOD CITY, CALIFORNIA ,
<br /> AND APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVE -
<br /> MENTS , seconded by Councilman Arnett . Staff reported this project consisted of widen -
<br /> ing Veterans Boulevard and constructing curbs , pavement , gutters , sidewalks , storm
<br /> drains , and miscellaneous appurtenant items , all at the Permittee ' s expense ( Chrysler
<br /> Realty Corporation ) .
<br /> In reply to question whether rest of this block could be improved , City Manager advised
<br /> it might be possible under specific provisions of City ordinance to force remainder of
<br /> block improvements and he would investigate the possibilities ( Memo 9/23/69 ) . Motion
<br /> carried on roll call vote , Councilman Weymouth being noted absent .
<br /> Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6114 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFT_ CATTONS
<br /> FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE VETERANS BOULEVARD INTERCEPTING SEWER IMPROVEMENTS ; AND AUTHOR -
<br /> IZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR , seconded by Councilman Keckley .
<br /> Staff report noted plans and specifications were prepared by Jenks and Adamson , con -
<br /> sulting En,g; ineers , and had been approved by the City ; that the Fair Oaks Sewer Maintenance
<br /> Pirtr nt is entering into a Supplementary Agreement with the City of Redwood City to
<br /> pay 71% of the cost of the intercepter sewer and the full cost of relocation of an
<br /> existing 18" intercepter sewer , which agreement to be ( see page 469 )
