476
such a meeting , and if one set that reports be submitted to Council prior
thereto .
Councilman Keckley again questioned whether any consideration had been given to
subdivision planning in Redwood Shores for a mixed community and of his concerns
over high price of present housing which precluded type of mixed community hoped
for .
Mr . Reiter advised of the study which had already been
initiated by their firm , as consulting engineers , and of
meeting held with Leslie , as developer , and the modifications
which had been made , but meetings to continue in order to
complete their review . He noted Leslie Properties were looking
at " 0 " lot line concepts and also considering larger lots than
6500 square feet , but could not advise on the full extent of
planning . He also admitted their firm not able to direct such
development as more in the sphere of the developer or even
the Planning Commission .
City Manager stated Leslie Properties had been invited to participate in this
monthly discussion on Redwood Shores but had indicated little to report as no
new starts had been made in project outside of Redwood Shores Unit #1 , since
builders , even though willing and able to proceed , are , however , apprehensive
of the FHA decision .
After further discussion concerning joint meeting requested by Leslie Properties ,
Councilman Arnett moved to direct Staff to arrange for joint meeting with Planning
Commission , Council , Leslie Properties , and any others concerned , for discussion
of Steinberger Subdivision , but not necessarily limited to this subject , seconded
by Councilman Rosselli . +..
Suggestion made that Staff work out nature of other discussion to be held in
light of concerns expressed by Council for size of proposed parks , amount of land
used from land bank , width of street , housing for lower income families , etc .
It was agreed part of open discussion proposed for joint meeting would include
any other matters relating toShores which might be of concern to Council . It
was also suggested that all material possible be sent to Council prior to this
joint meeting . Motion carried ( MINUTE ORDER # 69-190 ) .
AWARD OF BID , Two ( 2 ) Pre -fabricated metal comfort stations .
The following is the only bid received :
Super Secur Comfort Stations 510, 560 . 00
Staff reported funds were appropriated in the current Budget for facility at
Mezes Park in amount of $8900 and that Council thereafter had approved recommendation
of the Park and Recreation Commission for installation of a facility for Andrew
Spinas Park and appropriated $ 8900 therefor . Staff recommended acceptance of the
bid of Super Secur Comfort Stations .
City Manager advised that funds appropriated included installation costs involved
for foundation slab , hook-up to sewer and water , and that available funds would -- -
cover total costs .
:;CT 6 'GS
