488 <br /> Councilman Arnett summarized briefly his Proposal prepared over the last weekend <br /> and submitted to Council this date , whereby recommendation made that Council , <br /> sitting as the Board of Directors for GI") 1 -64 , hold a series of i_nve sti 7ati.ve <br /> public hearings on points raised by the Federal Agencies and unfavorable news <br /> publicity on the seismic situation in Redwood Shores . <br /> Councilman Rosselli requested this matter be held over for one week , inasmuch as <br /> two Councilmen ( Himself. and Councilman Petersen ) requested the delay , and a re - <br /> view and analysis should be made before Council considered taking action since <br /> materials had just been received . Councilman Arnett pointed out that Congressman <br /> McCloskey had specifically requested direction from Council and spoke of timeliness . <br /> Re had prepared this proposal for Council ' s consideration over this past weekend <br /> to better define a proposal made previously by him stressing, fact unfavorable <br /> publicity causing concern to the community on this problem , and urged Council <br /> to proceed. with action proposed which is affirmative , expresses concern and seeks <br /> to discharge its responsibilities , <br /> Councilman Arnett stated his proposal recommended a series of three public <br /> hearings , commencin - on October 30th , so plenty of time was available to refine <br /> the proposal further and it had been his intention that Council request Staff to <br /> implement this procedure along guidelines suggested . <br /> Mayor Bury confirmed that Councilman Petersen had requested this matter be con- <br /> tinued and concurred with Councilman Rosselli that Council ' s policy had been <br /> established on this subject , in that two Councilmen could be granted privilege of <br /> such a continuance . Councilmen Keckley and Weymouth indicated their appreciation <br /> for this proposal and effort which had been made by Councilman Arnett and agreed <br /> timeliness was important , but felt a week ' s delay as requested by two Councilmen <br /> should be granted , and recommended that Staff and City Attorney be requested to <br /> review this proposal thoroughly for any further r ecommendations before Council <br /> takes action next week , <br /> Mayor Bury , in view of Council discussion , requested this proposal be continued <br /> for one week , and Staff review for any additional recommendations .
