Staff reported project was designed <br /> by Edwin H . Smith and work performed by the subdivision and completed to the <br /> satisfaction of Staff , the required maintenance bond having been posted . (MINUTE <br /> ORDER # 69-199 ) <br /> ACCEPTANCE of Improvements , DMA Corporation ( sanitary sewer - Denny ' s Texaco , etc . ) <br /> approved , subject to the usual one -year guarantee of workmanship and materials , <br /> on motion of Councilman Petersen , seconded by Councilman Keckley . Staff reported <br /> project was designed by Edwin H . Smith and work performed by private contract <br /> for the Developer . Staff recommended approval i. subject to the usual guarartees , <br /> since project has novT been completed to satisfaction of Department of Public <br /> Works . Motion carried ( MINUTE ORDER # 69 -200 ) <br /> ACCEPTANCE of Improvements , Eden. Power Lane Extension ( storm drain and sani_ tar7 <br /> sewer -- nrivate street ) approved , subject to the usual one -year guar. antee of <br /> workmanship and mater_ ials , on motion of Councilman Keckley , seconded by Councilman <br /> Arnett . Staff reported project was designed by Frahm, Edler & Associates , and <br /> improvements constructed under private contract by Challenge Contractng Company; <br /> that all improvements within the City ' s public utility easement have been com- <br /> pleted to the satisfaction of the Department of Public Works , and is recommended <br /> for acceptance , subject to the usual guarantees . Flatland Company 9180 . 00 <br /> Engineer ' s Estimate $7740 . 00 <br /> It was noted a bid received from Rosendin Electric had been received too late and <br /> was returned unopened . Staff recommended low hid of Coast Electric Company be <br /> accepted , but stated that additional funds would he required , if Council desired. <br /> to award bid , since only 56000 had been appropriated for this work . It was <br /> noted bid figures did not include design engineering or construction administration <br /> City Manager reported that project as envisioned was an effort to incorporate <br /> request of downtown merchants for electrical system for lighting Christmas <br /> decorations on Broadway and if project to he completed f'or this year ' s Christmas -- <br /> decorations , award would have to be made on these bids and additional funds <br /> appropriated . He recommended award be made and additional funds be transferred <br /> since to delay would further increase costs in view of /present trends . <br /> 69 <br />
