<br /> OTHER BIDS RECEIVED ; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK ; AND DIRECTING
<br /> RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSITS , seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll
<br /> call vote , Councilman Petersen being noted absent .
<br /> AWARD OF BID , El Camino Real -Jefferson Avenue widening , channelization and traffic

<br /> Staff reported the total project cost was now estimated at 8112 , 8001 based on the
<br /> low construction bid and adding engineering and right -of -way costs , It was also
<br /> noted City ' s share of this project was authorized in the 1969 -70 Budget in the
<br /> amount of $93 , 000 and the State has agreed to contribute up to $ 52 , 000 . However ,

<br /> a review of the bids indicate there are serious irregularities and Staff recommended
<br /> all bids be rejected and authorization be given to immediately readvertise . City
<br /> Manager also stated , as had been indicated in his report , there was a serious
<br /> difference of opinion as to whether City should readvertise at this time , or whether
<br /> to wait until Spring and more predictable weather , but recommendation based on
<br /> certainty of escalation of costs .
<br /> Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 6144 REJECTING BIDS RECEIVED FOR
<br /> EL CAMINO REAL-JEFFERSON AVENUE WIDENING, CHANNELIZATION AND TRAFFIC SIGNAL MOD -
<br /> IFICATION ; DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO RETURN ALL SECURITY DEPOSITS TO BIDDERS IN
<br /> CONNECTION THEREWITH ; AND , AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO READVERTISE FOR BIDS , seconded
<br /> by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote , Councilman Petersen being
<br /> noted absent .
<br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 6145 AUTHORIZING DEPUTY CITY CLERK TO
<br /> ACCEPT GRANTS OR DEEDS ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION
<br /> NO . 3062 , seconded by Councilman Arnett .
<br /> Staff reported this resolution would rescind resolution naming present City Clerk
<br /> as City Official to accept Deeds or Grants on behalf of City , and since present
<br /> City Clerk retiring as of October 31st , Deputy Clerk authorized for this duty as of
<br /> that date . Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Petersen being noted absent ,
