16 <br /> City Attorney explained Undergrounding District planned for inclusion in Wood - <br /> side Road improvements , which did include some parcels in unincorporated area <br /> and reason for County granting to City extraterritorial jurisdiction in order <br /> undergrounding project could be covered and proceed under one continuous improve- <br /> ment and jurisdiction . <br /> Mr , Martineau advised terminus for this Undergrounding <br /> District placed at boundary of Town of Woodside , and they <br /> would be continuing from this point by formation of their <br /> own Underground District . <br /> Bob Wallace , 71 Inyo Place , in unincorporated area , asked <br /> whether 60 KV lines in evidence in this area were to be <br /> included in the undergrounding project . <br /> Mayor Bury reviewed the attempts which had been made in the past to have this <br /> line placed underground and which had not been successful and not possible to <br /> include in this project . <br /> Mr . Roland Olson , of State Division of Highways , advised <br /> of the State ' s need for action to proceed on completing this <br /> District in order that Highway improvements on Woodside <br /> Road will not be held up . <br /> City Attorney noted that he had been requested by Director of Public Works to <br /> add two additional utility facilities which may be located above ground within <br /> the District , included with that of surface mounted transformers , and noted as <br /> " switches and fuses " . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to close the public hearing , seconded by Councilman <br /> Weymouth and carried . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to introduce Ordinance establishing Underground Utility <br /> District in the vicinity of Woodside Road between Churchill Avenue and Locust <br /> Street within the City of Redwood City and certain adjacent portions of unin - <br /> corporated areas of the County of San Mateo ; designating said District as Under - <br /> ground Utility District No . 69 - 1 ; describing the boundaries of said District ; <br /> providing for exceptions to requirements of said District ; and establishing <br /> the times in which poles and overhead wires shall be removed and underground <br /> service provided , seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried . <br /> ACCEPTANCE of Fire Station No . 4 <br /> Fire Station has been completed to the satisfaction of Staff and acceptance is <br /> recommended . <br /> Councilman Rosselli moved to accept the project , subject to the usual one -year <br /> guarantee of workmanship and materials , seconded by Councilman Arnett . <br /> City Manager responded to question regarding completion of landscaping to <br /> advise this would be done before rainy weather sets in . He also requested on <br /> behalf of the contractor that the 35 -day 10% retention provision be waived , <br /> inasmuch as the facilities had been dedicated in mid -September , and they already <br /> were occupied and in use for a period exceeding the prescribed retention period , <br /> but that the contractor be held to the hold harmless provision .
