2E;
There was discussion of possibly allowing issuance of special permit in certain
hardship cases , but this had been considered by the Committee and opposed , one
reason being added policing problem .
Mayor Bury quoted from Section 20 . 101 ( a ) of proposed ordinance , "No person shall
stop , stand , or park any truck , bus , trailer , trailer coach , house car , vehicle
equippped with a camper , or any commercial vehicle of any kind , etc . " , and felt
that in the case of a station wagon bearing commercial license plates , for example ,
the ordinance might be more inclusive than intended . City Attorney advised this
ordinance simply carries forward the same language as in the present ordinance ,
and after further discussion , agreed that perhaps wording should be examined , as
to intent with respect to prohibiting all commercial vehicles .
Carl Fallstead , 32 Meadow Lane , asked for
definition of " commercial vehicle " .
City Attorney replied that the term obviously refers to vehicle ' s use .
Councilman Henderson felt that interested persons should have an opportunity to
be heard and requested action be postponed .
Original motion was withdrawn , and Mayor Bury requested the matter be placed on
the agenda of November 17 , 1969 .
