4 <br /> Harry W . De Brie , 679 Cambridge Road , Redwood City , approving <br /> parking ban ordinance . ( Copies will be furnished to Council ) <br /> The following persons appeared in protest of the new Ordinance : <br /> Charles and Adele Dunlap , 37 Avondale , Redwood City <br /> Ed Ross , 272 Encina Avenue , Redwood City . <br /> Council advised of deliberations during two earlier Council meetings on the <br /> proposed parking restrictions , and noted the ordinance had been introduced in <br /> the best interests of eliminating traffic hazard and the removal of obstacles from <br /> streets because of congestion . Weight of opinion , it was pointed out , was in <br /> favor of the Ordinance . <br /> Councilman Arnett questioned whether any further review had been made by Staff of <br /> present ordinances which might be revised relative to parking on private property <br /> which might alleviate this restrictive parking of campers , trailers , etc . City <br /> Attorney advised present Zoning Ordinance sets specific setback requirements on <br /> private property . <br /> Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Weymouth being noted absent . / <br /> Regular meeting of Council. for December 1 , 1969 , canceled on motion of Councilman <br /> Keckley , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried , since four Council members <br /> will be attending 46th Annual Congress of Cities in San Diego , December 1 -4 , 1969 . <br /> ( MINUTE ORDER #69 -232 ) <br /> ACCOUNTS PAYABLE , Nos . 75207 through 75392 , inclusive , totaling $201 , 299 . 08 , approved <br /> on motion of Councilman Keckley , seconded by Councilman Arnett . <br /> Mr . Floyd Granger , 1827 Brewster , criticized the poor lighting <br /> on Main Street , and questioned when fixtures cleaned or globes <br /> replaced . <br /> Director of Public Works responded , stating that the problem came about when new <br /> transformers were installed on Broadway , and their Department acknowledges there <br /> is a problem . They had already called the PG&E , which is investigating and they <br /> hope to have the problem solved . He advised further that funds were not included <br /> in the budget for replacement of lights , due to the austerity program . Mayor Bury <br /> suggested the matter be referred to City Manager for investigation and recommendations . <br /> ( Memo 12/25/69 ) <br /> COMMUNICATIONS : <br /> Copy of Resolution No . 27081 of the San Mateo County Board of <br /> Supervisors , urging posting of notices or provisions of Fair <br /> Housing Act of the State of California . <br /> State Department of Public Works regarding Senate Bill 1028 <br /> providing for implementation of the Federal TOPICS program <br /> in California , and advising County Board of Supervisors would <br /> be contacting City for recommendations on selection of repre - <br /> sentatives . ( Copy submitted to Council ) <br /> Edward King , Chairman of Committee on Countywide Water Needs <br /> requesting Council ' s consideration for joining proposed Peninsula <br /> Water Agency .
