Council then directed a number of questions to which Mr . Sinkunas <br /> responded . Relative to reception of fringe or distant signals , he advised that the <br /> cable system will not alter that capability . It was determined , however , that a <br /> converter is required to be installed in order to accomplish this , which is avail - <br /> able at additional cost to the subscriber on request . It appeared that certain <br /> channels , such as the College of San Mateo ' s Channel 14 , are not identifiable on <br /> receiver sets as they do not coincide with published logs , and Mayor Bury requested <br /> Mr . Sinkunas to provide information to the City relative to availability of channels . <br /> ( Memo 12/9/69 ) <br /> In the matter of service and maintenance , Mr . Sinkunas stated that their staff is <br /> available for service between the hours of 8 : 30 to 5 : 30 weekdays , and that for <br /> calls during the remaining hours , an answering service is utilized and calls relayed <br /> to one serviceman on standby . Service is available , therefore , at any time . He <br /> advised with regard to availability of FM channel that it can be provided through <br /> installation of converter , for which there is a charge . Some dissatisfaction was <br /> expressed regarding the FM installation and Mr . Sinkunas stated their firm has on <br /> order a modulator produced by a manufacturer in Philadelphia , but this is not expected <br /> to be delivered until at least February , and this will improve FM channel reception . <br /> Relative to a question as to legal requirements within terms of the bond in the <br /> matter of completion date , City Attorney advised since this is a franchise , the <br /> system not under City ownership , so there would be no acceptance of the project <br /> as such . Staff was requested , however , to check out the completion of the cable <br /> system and submit any recommendations for any action required . ( Memo 12/9/69 ) <br /> Council noted a number of complaints regarding reception in Redwood Shores , and <br /> Mr . Sinkunas responded that they are required daily to repair or splice cable in <br /> Redwood Shores that has been damaged by contractors working in the area , and that <br /> other utility companies are having similar problems . <br /> Mr . Walter Robinson , 1078 Eden Bower Lane , noted there <br /> is no cable TV installation on his street . <br /> Mr . Sinkunas replied that installation is in process on that street , in addition <br /> to a portion of Harding Avenue mentioned earlier , and is expected to be completed <br /> by Wednesday . <br /> Mr . James A . Miller , 3015 Bayshore , inquired if his area <br /> of mobile homes is to be included . <br /> Mr .
