41 8 Redwood City , with the exception of a small portion of Harding Avenue , had cable television available to them , noting that this was one week ahead of the deadline of December 15 . Council then directed a number of questions to which Mr . Sinkunas responded . Relative to reception of fringe or distant signals , he advised that the cable system will not alter that capability . It was determined , however , that a converter is required to be installed in order to accomplish this , which is avail - able at additional cost to the subscriber on request . It appeared that certain channels , such as the College of San Mateo ' s Channel 14 , are not identifiable on receiver sets as they do not coincide with published logs , and Mayor Bury requested Mr . Sinkunas to provide information to the City relative to availability of channels . ( Memo 12/9/69 ) In the matter of service and maintenance , Mr . Sinkunas stated that their staff is available for service between the hours of 8 : 30 to 5 : 30 weekdays , and that for calls during the remaining hours , an answering service is utilized and calls relayed to one serviceman on standby . Service is available , therefore , at any time . He advised with regard to availability of FM channel that it can be provided through installation of converter , for which there is a charge . Some dissatisfaction was expressed regarding the FM installation and Mr . Sinkunas stated their firm has on order a modulator produced by a manufacturer in Philadelphia , but this is not expected to be delivered until at least February , and this will improve FM channel reception . Relative to a question as to legal requirements within terms of the bond in the matter of completion date , City Attorney advised since this is a franchise , the system not under City ownership , so there would be no acceptance of the project as such . Staff was requested , however , to check out the completion of the cable system and submit any recommendations for any action required . Sinkunas responded that they are required daily to repair or splice cable in Redwood Shores that has been damaged by contractors working in the area , and that other utility companies are having similar problems . Mr . Walter Robinson , 1078 Eden Bower Lane , noted there is no cable TV installation on his street . Mr . Sinkunas replied that installation is in process on that street , in addition to a portion of Harding Avenue mentioned earlier , and is expected to be completed by Wednesday . Mr . James A . Miller , 3015 Bayshore , inquired if his area of mobile homes is to be included . Mr . Sinkunas advised that cable facilities are available , and service can be provided upon application .
