He also reminded deadline for submittal of applications is February 19 , 1969 , and asked that Council observe this rule when either instructing possible f+ candidates or submitting names themselves for consideration . ,_ t Mayor Bury reported on the notice received from the Chamber of Commerce of the "ribbon cutting " ceremonies to be held for the Piper ' s Shoe Store , 2310 Broad- way , 11 : 15 a .m . , Tuesday , February 11th , and that all Council members had " been invited . ACCOUNTS PAYABLE , Nos . 70388-70594 , totaling $ 330 , 544 . 73 , were approved on motion of Councilman Weymouth , seconded by Councilman Arnett and carried . COMMUNICATIONS : Association of Bay Area Governments ( ABAG) notification of General Assembly Meeting to be held February 28 , 1969 , Hotel Claremont , Berkeley . ( Copy submitted to Council ) Communication from City of Stanton , California , with copy of Resolution enclosed as adopted by their City Council , requesting initiation of new legislation to revise or amend existing inequities in State Legislation pertaining to assessing and taxing of real property ( copy submitted to Council ) Brochure from Bay Area Committee for Engineers ' Week sympo- sium on "Rebuilding Urban America " to be held on February 18 , 1969 , Sheraton- Palance Hotel , San Francisco ( copy sub- mitted to Council ) . Notice of League of California Cities , Peninsula Division , meeting to be held March 6 , 1969, Southern Restaurant , Redwood City ( copy submitted to Council ) . Councilman Rosselli commended all City Staff involved with the clean-up work caused by the recent windstorm , and in addition , particularly commended the Fire and Police personnel on their aid in avoiding a further disaster when airplane landed on Farm Hill Boulevard . Mayor Bury concurred that all City Staff efforts more than appreciated in both these situations . Councilman Rosselli also asked that a progress report be made on study beiing made of traffic problems at Whipple and Alameda de las Pulgas . He also requested a study be made at Whipple and El Camino intersection, particularly with refer- ence to signalization, as felt flashing yellow lights when train passing through caused confusion . Mayor Bury asked that both requests be referred to the City ' Manager . (Memo 2/11/69 ) Councilman Petersen advised he had been reappointed to League of California Cities ' Committee on Transportation and Highways and of the meeting to be held on February 28th , and requested Council permission to attend . Councilman Rosselli moved to approve the request , seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried .
