The following bids were received : <br /> Custom Pools $ 8 , 126 . 57 <br /> Aqua Engineering 8 , 997 . 45 <br /> Staff recommended rejection of bids since they feel this price is higher than <br /> justified , and exceeded the funds available . City Manager reported that he is <br /> attempting to have certain parts fabricated for the existing filter system which <br /> would obviate the necessity of replacing the entire unit , <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5920 REJECTING ALL BIDS RECEIVED FOR <br /> FURNISHING OF SWIM POOL FILTER SYSTEM; AND, DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSIT <br /> RECEIVED, seconded by Councilman Henderson and carried on roll call vote , <br /> Councilman Rosselli being noted absent . <br /> Motion to waive the formal bidding procedure and authorize purchase of TYPE FP Classifer <br /> for Sewage Treatment Plant approved on motion of Councilman Petersen, seconded by <br /> Councilman Henderson . <br /> Staff report explained that the existing Dorr-Oliver Classifier , installed in <br /> 1959, was in need of replacement and because of its special manufacture , and ex- <br /> isting space for installation , it cannot be substituted by products of other manu- <br /> facture . It was reported funds were available for purchase of this equipment in <br /> the current Budget and Staff recommends this item be purchased without advertising <br /> for bids , since it is available from one source only . Motion carried unanimously . <br /> ( MINUTE ORDER #69-38 ) <br /> Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5921 TRANSFERRING SUM OF $ 1 , 720 FROM <br /> APPROPRIATION FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT DICKEY STREET ENTRANCE TO COMMUNITY PARK TO AP- <br /> PROPRIATION FOR COMMUNITY PARK IMPROVEMENTS FOR PICNIC AND BARBECUE AREAS , seconded <br /> by Councilman Keckley . <br /> In reply to questions , City Manager advised Park and Recreation Commission had made <br /> this request for funding of picnic and barbecue area on the Thorne property at <br /> Community Park to augment this type of recreation . He advised when funds had been <br /> made available for the Dickey Street entrance landscaping , it had been realized <br /> only aninterim amount of work would be required , if and when it was determined <br /> whether Dickey Street would be an interior roadway , or whether interior roadway <br /> would be eliminated and only walkways planned into the park , He also advised <br /> Community Park planning would be one of the first projects to be pursued by Ribera <br /> & Sue , Park Consultants . Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Roselli <br /> being noted absent . <br /> ACCEPTANCE of Improvements , Project SD-21 , GID 1-65 (Redwood Creek Channel Improvements , <br /> from Massachusetts Avenue to Virginia Avenue , and Stulsaft Branch Channel Improve - <br /> ments , Fairview Avenue to Jefferson Branch) , approved subject to a one -year guar- <br /> antee of workman ship and materials , on motion of Councilman Weymouth , seconded by <br /> Councilman Arnett . <br /> ACCEPTANCE of Improvements , Project W-7 , GID 2 -65 , Edgewood-Wilmington Water System, <br /> approved , subject to a one -year guarantee of workmanship and materials , on motion <br /> of Councilman Weymouth , seconded by Councilman Arnett . <br /> ..s '6, <br />
