Motion to waive the formal bidding procedure and authorize purchase of TYPE FP Classifer for Sewage Treatment Plant approved on motion of Councilman Petersen, seconded by Councilman Henderson . Staff report explained that the existing Dorr-Oliver Classifier , installed in 1959, was in need of replacement and because of its special manufacture , and ex- isting space for installation , it cannot be substituted by products of other manu- facture . It was reported funds were available for purchase of this equipment in the current Budget and Staff recommends this item be purchased without advertising for bids , since it is available from one source only . ( MINUTE ORDER #69-38 ) Councilman Weymouth moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5921 TRANSFERRING SUM OF $ 1 , 720 FROM APPROPRIATION FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT DICKEY STREET ENTRANCE TO COMMUNITY PARK TO AP- PROPRIATION FOR COMMUNITY PARK IMPROVEMENTS FOR PICNIC AND BARBECUE AREAS , seconded by Councilman Keckley . In reply to questions , City Manager advised Park and Recreation Commission had made this request for funding of picnic and barbecue area on the Thorne property at Community Park to augment this type of recreation . He advised when funds had been made available for the Dickey Street entrance landscaping , it had been realized only aninterim amount of work would be required , if and when it was determined whether Dickey Street would be an interior roadway , or whether interior roadway would be eliminated and only walkways planned into the park , He also advised Community Park planning would be one of the first projects to be pursued by Ribera & Sue , Park Consultants .
