2 7 4 <br /> In reply to question as to type of inspection made on completion of projects , Director <br /> of Public Works advised in City areas a detailed inspection was made with the contract - <br /> or , and in County areas , a request was made for County to submit a letter detailing <br /> completion data . Motion carried . ( MINUTE ORDER #69-40 ) <br /> Councilman Henderson moved to adopt ORDINANCE NO , 1394 , AMENDING SECTION 32 OF ORDINANCE <br /> NO . 1382 , THE SALARY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO POSITION OF <br /> ACTING DEPUTY POLICE CHIEF , seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call <br /> vote , Councilman Rosselli being noted absent . <br /> DAMAGE CLAIMS : ( 1 ) Mrs . Rose Tenzer, 530 Pine Street , for personal injuries alleged to <br /> have been caused by City ' s Municipal Transit System operation ; ( 2 ) Ed Ullom on be - <br /> half of Richard Ullom , a minor , for property damages alleged to have been caused <br /> by City ' s negligence , denied and referred to insurance carrier , on motion of Council- <br /> man Petersen , seconded by CouncilmanArnett and carried . ( MINUTE ORDERS #69-40-A <br /> and #69-40 -B ) <br /> CouncilmanArnett moved to introduce Ordinance amending Section 34 . 2 of the Code of the <br /> City of the City of Redwood City , relating to the responsibility for enforcement of <br /> the provisions of Chapter 34 , entitled , "Trailers and Trailer Parks " of said Code , <br /> seconded by Councilman Henderson . <br /> Staff report stated this amendment would empower the Chief of Police and the Fire <br /> Chief to enforce provisions of Chapter 34 when conditions affecting health , safety , <br /> or welfare of persons , or the public , so require . City Attorney noted that as or- <br /> dinance presently stands , only the County Health Officer is given such enforcement <br /> powers , and this amendment broadens the scope to include enforcement responsibility <br /> for Police Chief and Fire Chief , Motion carried . <br /> COMMUNICATIONS : <br /> Invitation for a workshop entitled " Implementing an affirmative <br /> action program " , sponsored by the Palo Alto Human Relations Com- <br /> mission , on March 22 , 1969 , reservations for which are due no <br /> later than March 14 ( copy submitted to Council ) . <br /> City Clerk of San Carlos enclosing copy of their Council ' s reso - <br /> lution urging the State Legislature to adopt legislation that will <br /> continue the existence of the BCDC ( copy submitted to Council ) . <br /> Councilman Henderson questioned whether report had been received from the West Bay <br /> Rapid Transit for which a response was expected from cities in the County , and when <br /> it might be expected for a Council agenda item after Staff review . City Manager ad - <br /> vised report had been received and was still in process of being reviewed by Staff , <br /> but it was hoped could be made an agenda item for March 17th . ( Memo 3/4/69 ) <br /> Councilman Henderson reported on the brief review at ABAG meeting which had been <br /> given of the proposed Knox bill by legal counsel of League of California Cities and <br /> by President of ABAG on which they will later make a report after a full review , as <br /> it was a massive bill proposing many controversial areas regarding taxes . She noted <br /> this bill had been discussed at the Council of Mayors and felt it worth a note of <br /> caution that Council not be placed in any fixed posi.on on this bill until all in- <br /> formation had beenplaced at their disposal . <br />
