Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5947 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUC - TION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR REDWOOD CITY GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO . 1 -64 , DOLPHIN SUBDIVISION NO . 1 ; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK; AND DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSIT, seconded by Councilman Keckley and carried on roll call vote , Councilman Weymouth being noted absent . Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 5948 BEING RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ABANDON PORTIONS OF PUBLIC STREETS IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 3 OF DIVISION 9 , STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ; PROVIDING FOR THE RESERVA- TION OF CERTAIN EASEMENTS THEREFROM; SETTING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING ALL PER SONS INTERESTED IN OR OBJECTING TO THE PROPOSED VACATION; AND ORDERING POSTING OF NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED VACATION, seconded by Councilman Henderson . Staff reported County had requested this abandonment in connection with the im- provements proposed in the County Government Center and detailed the easements which are to be retained by the City , Resolution sets a public hearing for May 51 1969 , City Manager stated he would check on plans previously set for Lathrop House ( Memo 4/8/69 ) . Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5949 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECU- TION OF AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY, RELATING TO INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE OF GRADE CROSSING PREDICTORS AT BROADWAY AND JEFFERSON AVENUE , seconded by Councilman Arnett , Staff reported these grade crossing predictors will reduce the traffic congestion at the railroad crossings at Broadway and Jefferson Avenue , by reducing the number of times the crossing arms are needlessly activated . It was noted funds in cur- rent budget provided for $ 6 , 000 for the Broadway installation and $ 6 , 050 for the Jefferson installation representing 50% of the estimated costs , with the balance being funded by the Railroad Company . Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5950 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF JEFFERSON AVENUE -HIGHLAND AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS ; AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR , seconded by Councilman Rosselli . City Manager explained that plans and specifications for these street improvements had been designed primarily to accommodate Firestation No . 4 , providing driveway access , etc . , and are being funded for estimated cost of $ 11 , 000 from appropria - tion provided for in the current Budget , with no costs to residents in the area . In reply to question concerning any safety warning signalization which might be proposed for fire trucks leaving this station , City Manager advised such devices had not been included in these improvements , but would be determined later after at 7 it
