Planning Director reviewed <br /> how procedure had been set up under direction and supervision of State repre - <br /> sentatives . Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Weymouth being noted <br /> absent . <br /> REPORT OF BID OPENING , Dolphin Subdivision #1 . The following bids were received : <br /> Total <br /> Hood Corporation $ 511 , 619 . 70 <br /> Bragato Paving Co . 608 , 728 , 80 <br /> McGuire & Yester 781 , 022 , 00 <br /> Engineer ' s Estimate $ 555 , 718;;50 <br /> Staff and DMJM recommended award of bid to Hood Corporation , the low bidder . <br /> Councilman Rosselli moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5947 AWARDING CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUC - <br /> TION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS FOR REDWOOD CITY GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO . <br /> 1 -64 , DOLPHIN SUBDIVISION NO . 1 ; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF CONTRACT FOR SAID WORK; <br /> AND DIRECTING RETURN OF SECURITY DEPOSIT, seconded by Councilman Keckley and <br /> carried on roll call vote , Councilman Weymouth being noted absent . <br /> Councilman Petersen moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO , 5948 BEING RESOLUTION OF INTENTION <br /> TO ABANDON PORTIONS OF PUBLIC STREETS IN ACCORDANCE WITH PART 3 OF DIVISION 9 , <br /> STREETS AND HIGHWAYS CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA ; PROVIDING FOR THE RESERVA- <br /> TION OF CERTAIN EASEMENTS THEREFROM; SETTING TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING ALL PER <br /> SONS INTERESTED IN OR OBJECTING TO THE PROPOSED VACATION; AND ORDERING POSTING <br /> OF NOTICE OF SUCH PROPOSED VACATION, seconded by Councilman Henderson . <br /> Staff reported County had requested this abandonment in connection with the im- <br /> provements proposed in the County Government Center and detailed the easements <br /> which are to be retained by the City , Resolution sets a public hearing for May <br /> 51 1969 , City Manager stated he would check on plans previously set for Lathrop <br /> House ( Memo 4/8/69 ) . Motion carried on roll call vote , Councilman Weymouth being <br /> noted absent . <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5949 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECU- <br /> TION OF AGREEMENT WITH THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY, RELATING TO INSTALLATION <br /> AND MAINTENANCE OF GRADE CROSSING PREDICTORS AT BROADWAY AND JEFFERSON AVENUE , <br /> seconded by Councilman Arnett , <br /> Staff reported these grade crossing predictors will reduce the traffic congestion <br /> at the railroad crossings at Broadway and Jefferson Avenue , by reducing the number <br /> of times the crossing arms are needlessly activated . It was noted funds in cur- <br /> rent budget provided for $ 6 , 000 for the Broadway installation and $ 6 , 050 for the <br /> Jefferson installation representing 50% of the estimated costs , with the balance <br /> being funded by the Railroad Company . Motion carried on roll call vote , Council - <br /> man Weymouth being noted absent . <br /> Councilman Keckley moved to adopt RESOLUTION NO . 5950 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br /> FOR CONSTRUCTION OF JEFFERSON AVENUE -HIGHLAND AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS ; AND AUTHORIZING <br /> CITY CLERK TO CALL FOR BIDS THEREFOR , seconded by Councilman Rosselli . <br /> City Manager explained that plans and specifications for these street improvements <br /> had been designed primarily to accommodate Firestation No . 4 , providing driveway <br /> access , etc . , and are being funded for estimated cost of $ 11 , 000 from appropria - <br /> tion provided for in the current Budget , with no costs to residents in the area . <br /> In reply to question concerning any safety warning signalization which might be <br /> proposed for fire trucks leaving this station , City Manager advised such devices <br /> had not been included in these improvements , but would be determined later after <br /> at 7 it <br />
