M . <br /> Upon roll call , the following Councilmen were present : Mayor , C . G. Lambert , L . C . Christensen , <br /> J. M. Eva , E . A. Fletcher , R. N. Jones , P . A. McCarthy , Geo . W. Absent : None . <br /> The minutes of the meeting of May 6 , 1935 , were approved on motion of Councilman McNulty , <br /> seconded by Councilman Fletcher. <br /> James Lee , owner of the Hotel Brayton , San Francisco , asked permission to have a sign , size <br /> about 10 ' x 2g1 , advertising the hotel , erected on the south side of the Bayshore Highway <br /> some distance north of Chestnut Street . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by <br /> Councilman Christensen , permission was granted , with the installation subject to the <br /> approval of the Building Inspector . <br /> A letter from John Gill , Secretary of the Planning Commission , asking information as to the <br /> status of the violation of City Ordinance by Mr. Buben , was referred to the Attorney. <br /> Thos . Tuite , representing certain interested business people , complained to the Council of the <br /> congestion of parking facilities at night along Main Street between Broadway and Stambaugh <br /> Street . Mr . Tuite stated there was no available space in front of the restaurants where <br /> patrons could stop . On motion of Councilman Eva , seconded by Councilman Christensen , the <br /> Clerk was instructed to write a letter to the various fraternal organizations asking their <br /> cooperation in reducing this congested condition and asking them as much as possible to <br /> park on the east side of the street and not in front of businesses open at that time of <br /> the night . <br /> Claims for refund of taxes filed by Joseph L . Ross , Jr . , Trustee for the Estate of J. L . Ross , <br /> on property being used by the Pioneer Gibson Express , by the Inter-City Transportation <br /> Company and by the Railway Express Company , were referred to the City Attorney. <br />
