318 <br /> REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EQUALIZATION <br /> AUGUST 9 , 1937 <br /> 10 :00 A. M. <br /> Upon roll call , the following Councilmen were present : J . M. Eva , E . A. Fletcher , <br /> R. N. Jones , Wm. Hahn , and City Clerk B . E. Myers . Absent : Mayor Paul A. <br /> McCarthy , Councilman L. C . Christensen , and G. W. McNulty . <br /> In the absence of Mayor McCarthy , Councilman Fletcher was chosen to serve as chairman <br /> of the meeting . <br /> There were no personal appearances in connection with the assessment of property . <br /> The only written protest was from Meta B . Raettig , 2277 Cecilia Avenue , San Francisco , <br /> who asked that the assessed valuation on her Lot No . 3 in Block 9 of New <br /> High School Acres be reduced to at least $100 . 00 for the reason that the <br /> property was not worth the present assessed valuation and that it could not <br /> be sold for anything near that figure . Inasmuch as other property along the <br /> same street and in the same neighborhood was assessed on an equal basis with <br /> 4 <br /> this particular lot , the Board went on record , on motion of Councilman Hahn , <br /> seconded by Councilman Jones , denying the request , and the Clerk was instructed <br /> to write the protestant to this effect . <br /> Adjournment. <br /> BEM: HAS <br /> / <br /> L % <br /> City Clerk <br />
