404 <br /> at the same time the likelihood of selling at par bonds issued under the 1911 Act . <br /> Duncan Reynard , president of the Chamber of Commerce , asked the Council to listen to <br /> a presentation by Sam Winklebleck for the San Francisco Peninsula , Inc . , indicat- <br /> ing that the Chamber of Commerce had gone on record as favoring; the proposal <br /> ( a formal letter from Roscoe Wyatt , manager of the Chamber of Commerce , sub- <br /> stantiated this statement). Mr . Winklebleck explained the purpose of San <br /> Francisco Peninsula , Inc . , and asked that the City contribute as its share of <br /> advertising cost approximately $1 , 500 a year for two years . It was explained <br /> that one-half of the City ' s contribution would be used specifically to ad- <br /> vertise Redwood City ' s industries , including the Port . On motion by Council- <br /> man Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Anderson , it was decided to include in the <br /> current budget a levy of 10 for one year ' s payment to this publicity fund , and <br /> the Council went on record as favoring the inclusion of a similar levy for the <br /> fiscal year 1939-40 . <br /> Captain E . L . i orberg addressed the Council , concerning F . H . A. Housing Plans to <br /> be carried on by specially indicated housing authority . After considerable <br /> explanation and discussion concerning the workings of the plan , it was finally <br /> decided on motion by Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , to <br /> get the elan going and Mayor Christensen appointed Councilmen McCarthy , Anderson, <br /> and Fletcher to serve on a committee representing the Council , together with <br /> representatives from the Chamber of Commerce , Real Estate Board and Planning <br /> Commission. <br /> Walter Bndie asked permission to move to his property on the west side of Arguello <br /> Street a garage which he intends to use for a storehouse for equipment and <br /> supplies . On motion by Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Councilman Anderson , <br /> permit was granted. <br /> After filing affidavits of posting and publication , Resolution confirming street <br /> assessment No . 1937-3 , was proposed for adoption by Councilman Jones , seconded <br /> by Councilman McNulty. Unanimously passed. <br /> Councilman Jones , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , proposed adoption of Resolution <br /> adopting; the Budget and approving; the memorandum of agreement for expenditure <br /> of 1/4 cent gas tax allocated for streets of major importance . Carried . <br /> There was ordered filed affidavits for publication of notices for bids for lease <br /> of land at the Yacht Harbor . One bid Was presented , namely , that of Emil <br /> Dehoff , offering to :gay $50 a year for two years . Amount of payment for <br /> another three years to be determined later . It was indicated that he was <br /> to have an option for a 5-year extension as provided in the notices . There -- <br /> being no other bids , on motion by Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman <br /> Fletcher , there was introduced an ordinance providing for the leasing of <br /> 'certain property at the Yacht Harbor . <br />
