406 <br /> snecifying one , Joseph Spence , connected with the organization . ?Cass Fva, I cCabe , <br /> a field worker , was present and explained about the operation of this organization <br /> for the blind . The City Clerk had also written to the Better Business Bureau of <br /> Los Angeles and also the one in San Francisco about this organization . Finally , <br /> on motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by Councilman Fletcher , the organ- <br /> ization was given the right to hold a flower sale in Redwood City on July 30 . <br /> Councilman McCarthy made a brief report concerning the meeting of the various groups <br /> in regard to the Housing, Authority plan . <br /> .`,r . J . F . Craig appeared before the Council to complain about the conditions at 714 <br /> Roosevelt , which is between Hudson and Grand , claiming that the conditions <br /> were a public nuisance . However , no action was taken , but the City Attorney <br /> was asked to get a copy of the ordinance of the City of Burlingame pertaining <br /> to such conditions . <br /> L . E . Werder appeared before the Council on the following : The California Pacific <br /> Title and Trust Company wished to clear the title to Lots 94 and 96 , Map =�To . 1 , <br /> '1T of r Park ,Subdivision N . 2 , of a portion o.� Wellesley Par.. , but one encumbrance was a <br /> 1911 Act Bond against each lot . The treasurer ' s record showed no Payments <br /> having been made against the particular assessment , but there was submitted <br /> a letter signed by Clark Rice to whom the original bonds were given for the <br /> work in which he said , " I have received in full all monies due for Bonds lTos . <br /> 12 and 13 , Series 13 . " In the absence of the bond , the City Treasurer did not <br /> want to clear these lots , but on motion of Councilman McCarthy , seconded by <br /> Councilman Fletcher , he was authorized to do so . <br /> Frank DePatta , for the Clean Up Committee , asked what was the present status of <br /> action against property at 936 Fulton Street , 331 Heller , 2061 Broadway , and <br /> barn in 1300 block Middlefield Road. The Clerk was instructed to write <br /> letters to the owners of the Fulton and Heller Street property ir_si sting; <br /> that something be done about them before the next Council meeting . The <br /> attorney said he had written the owner of the barn property , but had not re- <br /> ceived a reply as yet . On motion of Councilman Fletcher , seconded by Council- <br /> man McCarthy , the attorney was instructed to institute proceedings for abate-- <br /> anent against the property at 2061 Broadway . <br /> The Clerk was instructed to put on the agenda for the next meeting report on the <br /> Behrens ' barn . <br /> Mr . DePatta also asked whether or not it would be possible to have lights on Broad- <br /> way , between Main and Chestnut , Thursday nights for certain organizations who <br /> wished to drill there . The matter was referred to the City Manager . <br />
